15 weeks: 3lb 8oz
Dayley rec. her 16wk shots (16in1 & bordatella + strongit dewormer) on 7-1-09, a bit early but she also got her 12wk shots early. Only rabies shot is left! Dayley is doing wonderful with "training" has mastered sit & up, is doing wonderfully with down & stay and as always were working on "come". She sleeps great and hasnt had any accidents in the house ((knocks on wood)) for sometime. Shes found her bark recently and takes great pride in barking at other dogs wanting to play. She got to play at work today with Buddy and Charlie and had lots of fun doing so!
16 weeks: 3lbs 15oz
Dayley has been switched over to Wellness Just for Puppy about a week ago (slow transition) and is taking it wonderfully. She continues to be an absolute joy to have in our family. She will be getting her rabies shot this week and a couple new tags coming in the mail, we found a few great custom websites that we love! Were still looking for the perfect collar for our little princess but until we do she has a couple very nice ultra soft collars that have been serving her well.
**Started Puppy Kindergarten**
shes a star in her class and although she came in late and is the youngest in group she knows her commands as good as if not better then the other participants. Shes the only dog in class that could do "come" from 30 feet away. Proud momma!! She has 5 more classes before she can test for her S.T.A.R. accreditation, after that Basic training classes with CGC until she is a year old and can register with our humane society and be a therapy dog with them!
17 weeks: 4lbs4oz
Dayley was spayed 7-22-09, she came through perfectly with no complications, had a flouride treatment on her teeth, ears cleaned and fecal came back negative. She will be on pain meds until Saturday but otherwise doing great.
**2cnd puppy class Monday, shes doing wonderfully!
She currently knows and we will continue working on
COME FROM 30+FT ON AND OFF LEASH
GO TO YOUR BED
18 weeks: 4lbs 6oz
She did wonderful in class again, shes got the clicker down pat and has an excellent "watch me" her trainer is using her alot for "examples" pretty neat considering shes the smallest (not youngest) in her class and by far most obedient, thats not me bragging, its honestly the truth. We did "pass the puppy" where everyone holds everyone elses dogs and I thought it was going to be a disaster with Dayley and she did fantastic, although she kept a close eye on me she sat quietly with everyone who held her. Only 3 more classes to go until her S.T.A.R. hurray!
19 weeks: 4lbs 8oz
She loves her classes still, shes learning STAND now, she has everything else pretty much down pat 100% when shes focused. Still loving the park of course. Got her first dose of comfortis this week.
20 weeks:4lbs 12oz
Last night she spent the day with her best buddys Sadie, Itsi & Cricket.. although she missed us a bit she was a good girl over-all. She sure was happy to see us come home too. Tomorrow is her 5th class, Next Monday she officially graduates with her S.T.A.R. and will soon there after begin her Basic Training towards getting her CGC. Good girl!!
6 Months: 5½lbs
Its been quite sometime since Ive updated Dayleys diary, she has continued to do very well with her training and even had her first experience recently with a young autistic boy who just loved her. Dayley was wonderful and allowed him to hold her quietly and she didnt flinch as he pet her coat, the smile it brought to his face was infectious. It was in that moment we knew we had chosen the right path for her as a therapy dog. She has learned a few new commands for fun, one of which "paw and other paw" she picked up very quickly is my current favorite. The hair on her ears is getting longer and her tail is starting to grow too. She loves the dog park and is an absolute pleasure as always to have around
