Arrival Story:
Desmond came from something of a BYB, and I was not so aware of the dangers of purchasing pups from a newspaper ad when I got him at 15. I got extremely lucky with a dog who is blessed with spectacular health and pretty darn good looks (if I do say so myself) with a remarkable temperament to boot. After much research on training, behavior, health, standards, breeds, and temperaments, I was encouraged by my mom to get a dog of my own before I pursued a career in canine care. He was something of an extremely thought out birthday present, and he has been nothing short of an absolute blessing in my life. I don't know where I would be without him. I'm lucky that I didn't have much of a struggle with my first puppy, but I'm also just lucky to have him. Back yard bred or not, this dog is perfect in my eyes.

Desmond is a smart, fun, loving dog. I would call him perfect, but I may be a little biased. :) He keeps me company all the time, and is always checking up on me if I go to another room. I never imagined he would be as cooperative and obedient as he is, I was expecting a terror of a first puppy and got an angel! He and I have been through a lot together, good and bad, but he's always been the little light in my life, keeping a smile on my face. Desmond got his CGC at 13 months, and having the opportunity to work with him has been incredibly rewarding. We both love training, mostly tricks and goofy stuff that we both get a kick out of, but we also work very hard on maintaining stellar behavior and manners. He likes to impress everyone he meets with how well behaved he is. ;) I'm planning to pursue a therapy career with Desmond as soon as we can, as he honestly just loves making people happy. It is his favorite thing, really, to cheer people up, visit everyone, make them smile and his calm temperament could really do him favors in the therapy field.
