Arrival Story:
Muldoon is a rescue. My wife Robin, she is the true Alpha, and I had always been Bullmastiff owners. We just love the breed. Our first was Grendel, a female red brindle, who came down with lymphatic cancer at age 7 . She crossed the bridge Christmas Eve 1999 nearly killing us with grief. Then the Lord healed our hearts and brought us MacDuff a male fawn Bullmastiff in January 2000. At the age of 2, after getting MacDuff through basic obedience twice and almost certificated as a companion, a co-worker and Bassett Rescue Volunteer Linda Comfort suggested that we might look in to rescue. We got a call that there was a 2 year old Basset in Antioch and could we take it now. We did. Robin drove to Antioch, found a 2 year old male spayed tri-color Bassett in a back yard with no shade and cement. The family had twin new born humans and a 2 year old and had no time for the dog. Robin took him in. Off to the vet, who treated the open sore in the wattle and gave him a general going over. We brought him home to meet MacDuff the Bullmastiff and the rest is history. Muldoon is the trouble maker, joining another Basset rescue, Sculley, a brown and white female Basset and MacDuff the Bullmastiff. Sculley was then 9 years old and was the Senior Dog in all respects. MacDuff and Mulldoon were terrified of her.

Bio:
Giant breeds go quickly like a very bright candle. There is so much love they give there is not a lot left for length of time. MacDuff and Sculley have since gone over the bridge where they have unlimited eats, something they did not have here on Earth. We kept them trim and lively. God gave MacDuff a massive fast growning tumor-cystic mass around his heart in 2005 so that he crossed February 13, 2005. Sculley contracted skin cancer that advanced quickly throughout her body so that everywhere she touched or petted or rubbed she bled out. And so she passed in March 2005 at the age of 16. She had all of her teeth and ruled the roost until the day she died. She is currently terrorizing all the young ones beyond the bridge and eating all she can find. These 3 dogs were tough on birds and cats. Watching them hunt was an exercise in Mom Nature at her best. Leave the emotions out, these 3 were good. The eliminated the Opossums and Raccoons. We used to have skunks as well, and there is no evidence of them either, and I think I would know it. Since the passing of MacDuff and Sculley we are back to being a 1 dog, 2 Amazon parrot, 1 wife and 1 husband family. God will cure us soon and we will add some more Bassets, but we have not been called yet.
