Arrival Story:
My sister in law was volunteering at a local shelter when a lonely little Aussie was brought in. Skipper was in shock and very scared to be in the kennel. When our family visited the shelter, my husband immediately bonded with him. We decided that day to adopt him. He is a very loving dog and always seems grateful that we rescued him.

Bio:
When we adopted Skipper we thought he was an Aussie mix. We already had an Aussie and Skipper was very different looking, as if there was a Border Collie in the bloodline. A few months after we adopted him we were surprised to receive his official AKC papers indicating he was a pure tri-color Aussie. Papers or not, we still think there's Border in there somewhere! We suspect that Skipper was verbally abused as well as hit with a broom. When ever someone would sweep or yell, he would run and cower in fear. He eventually got used to the broom, but the yelling still bothers him. Skipper is a wonderful faithful dog for our family and we love him very much.
