at least i was Dog Of The Day when i was still handsome...- ):

part of my ear got snipped off. ): my big sister Sable had one of those funny plastic collars on her head because she got bitten by a "special needs" German Shepherd Dog that was staying here when she was abandoned by her people, & Sable kept taking her head bandage off. well, she had the E-collar on Saturday when she came home with Daddy. she came into the house with it, & i guess in my excitement to see her she zigged & i zagged. next thing you know i was missing part of my ear when it got caught in between the layers of the plastic collar & sliced off. mommie is soooooooooooo upset because she loves my big, beautiful ears very much, (plus Ghostie! says she has something called "symmetry issues" because she really cannot stand his two differently colored eyes.) now i have a bad eye AND a bad ear. boy, does it hurt a lot. ouch. so, now BOTH Sable & i have big bandages around our heads, & we cannot play or anything. borrrrrrrring. i am way better with mine, i only pawed it one time the first night. i have gotten lots & lots of treats every day because mommie says i am being so good with the bandage & being a very, very good boy. (i bet Ghostie! is jealous.) no bouncy bouncy ball for now... i hope everyone still likes me a lot when i am less handsome.

it;s raining PALS!

first an avalanche of bouncy balls, & now an avalanche of wonderful, new pals! why, thank you so much everyone for all the great pup pal requests. i was right, Mommie does have to fill in & help me with these, because i am so "swamped" (Louisiana joke) with wonderful new pals, i will never get through it all. this is just like when i opened my bouncy ball box from Maggie Mae! bathed in happiness. what wonderful days i am having! wow!

holy COW! or "way better than living hiding behind a- dumpster"

this Dog Of The Day stuff is something! i have sooo many new pup pals! Mommie has to help me take care of them all! PLUS, i have so many delicious bones & little stars & clovers & ribbons & rainbows! wow! this is amazing. i wish everyone could be here & share my special num-nums & all my new bouncy balls & play with Snibby, Ghostie!, & me!

Lucky Dog! (& not the hot dog vendor, either.)

guess what? Mommie got a package in the mail from Auntie Amber & Maggie Mae Saturday, & it was a box. it was making some funny noises & Mommie was winking at me; (i wink all the time).... so she called me over & slowly cut the tape & handed the box down to me, & what did i see, TWENTY BOUNCY BALLS!!!! i can only count to 6, but Mommie explained how many that was!!!! it is a BIG PILE, let me tell you!! i immediately started drooling into the box, & then she took me into the hallway & tossed the box toward the ceiling & let all the balls loose for me! & then, MILLIONS of bounces, zigging & zagging. i was truly in dog heaven. even Ghostie! could not leap in and take it from me, there were just too many.

this was really great, as we were down to one single bouncy ball. they are a special ball that the dog store does not have, so i had to wait. oh, how i love Auntie Amber!!! i wish i could give her Sixx kisses all over her face! (Mommie is working on that right now, she says.)

then, all day today Mommie has been telling me what a great boy i am, (which she usually does, but even MORE today...), & now it turns out i get to be "Dog Of The Day" here for today!!! how about that? i am not sure exactly what that means, but Mommie has been hugging & kissing me all day nonstop, so it must be great!!! i bet it means i get to have even more friends here, which is super!

i just cannot believe the number of bouncy balls i have to play with, & new friends!!! i am such a lucky dog!

mastering the BOUNCY BALLS!

yes, the bouncy balls again. (: i am doing great. i can catch them just about anywhere, just everyone has to stay out of my way because i am a big, solid boy Mommie says, & it is hard to put on the brakes very fast. but, the hallway is all mine when the bouncy balls fly, (except that Ghostie keeps "interloping" Daddy calls it), & sometimes gets in my way, but he is like a bubble, anywhere i am, he just gets pushed aside & i get the bally! well, unless it bounces somewhere crazy, like behind the TV or underneath something... he is SO GOOD at figuring that out & bringing it back; i am usually totally lost at that point. so, i guess we make a good team. we still roll around & wrestle with Snibby, but this is so much fun too, we just cannot thank Aunti Amber & Maggie Mae enough!!! ((:

Auntie Amber said today to send some Bouncy Ball photos or video, but everyone gets so excited playing with me, there is no one left to take a photo!! someone will have to sit out a round or two, i guess.

path to a bouncy ball 12-step program...

i think i may need bouncy ball therapy soon; i just cannot stop. & no matter how hard i chew, (& i have really got chops here, let me tell you), i just cannot get them to break. WHAT A DEAL! i have learned how high up they go now; & am able to kind of figure out where they are headed. i learned pretty fast; i think my sucky pirate eye was in the way, but i have learned to work around that. that darned Ghostie! keeps stealing them in his big old lonnnng mouth & not giving them back. luckily i can plow through him like a subway car & get them back. he may be taller & longer, but he is verrrry wiry & thin; i am a big strong Sixx Ox!!!

so, i love when they throw them in the hallway, then it is bang, bang, bang, zig-zagging everywhere, & so easy for me to catch. they start off with them bouncing on the floor by my couch & i catch them over my HEAD!!! yaaaaaaaaay! (slobber) then, i get the head-on throws, where i can now catch them like Snibby catches popcorn! but, in the hallway, they go back & forth & back & forth like crazy! (i guess they love me more than the paint!) then, i chew on them forever & ever, making quacking noises like Miss Maggie does when she chomps them, but much deeper because i have a giant mouth, & they NEVER BREAK!!!!

all this time i have to keep them away from that Ghostie, or at least get them back. even when i catch them myself, he hops on my back & bites my neck, so i drop the bouncy ball, chew him up like a Tootsie Roll, & then grab my bouncy ball again.

i was in great shape before, but i am getting so many muscles from all this. like ten to fifteen times a day of bouncy ball. see, those tennis balls we loved, but we tore them to shreds in about 20 minutes, so we played mostly tug-0f-war with ropes, but this is AWESOME!!! Maggie & Tante Amber are SO GREAT!!! i cannot wait to lick them with my enormous tongue in thanks!

Mommie & Daddy clap all the time for me, & they can tell i am pretty proud of myself, because until now the only "tricks" i had were just showing off my strength & how silently & lightning fast i could pin a strange dog down when he might run up on us in a mean way on our walks.

this is SOOO MUCH FUN! i do not know how i would live without bouncy balls now!!! THANK YOU, MISS MAGGIE!!!!!

(there is one giant pig ear left; i bet Snibby is going to get it, but she caught the ball for three days & is now refusing, so she has been in the "doghouse", for real! & that leaves it wide open, i think.) Mommie "tested" her by "throwing" a biscuit, (except she only pretended), & Snibby made the big, big mistake of jumping right up to get that -- BAD MOVE. now, until she catches the bally again, she gets no biscuits. Mommie can be a tough cookie. just like Will Ferrell;s cartoon, "Training Your Dog Through Sarcasm & Humiliation" is a big philosophy around here, she had better "play ball" if she know s what is good for her. d:

back to the BOUNCY, BOUNCY BALLS!!!!!!

back from Baton Rouge with amazing things!

Mommie is finally home now. boy, did we miss her. she had the best, best, best time with Maggie Mae & her family, i am happy we even got her back. but, guess what? she brought home some "Maggie tested, Maggie approved" toys for us, & holy, holy cow! these green balls are sooooooo bouncy bouncy bouncy!!! i have never seen or imagined anything like them. it is very hard for me to keep track; i have never seen things bounce & zig-zag like these green things. Ghostie keeps trying to get them first, but i am a freight train & plow right through him, as usual. i am trying to learn that once they hit the floor they bounce upward & keep going, even past my head. it is a little confusing, but i am getting the hang of it, or trying to, anyway. Mommie told me what fun our pal Maggie has with them, but i just could never have dreamed of this kind of bounciness! they are hard to follow & keep track of for sure, a little fast for me, but i am learning.

Maggie also sent the biggest pig ears i have EVER seen in my life. these are twice as big as what they have in the store; where did they come from? plus, a pig that big is kind of scary. there are some awesome white spaceshippy things that look like they will be lots of fun when it is not slushy out. boy, am i ever going to teach that Ghostie a thing or two! Mommie really liked that little red Snib puppy that she visited; she can;t stop talking about her, & she showed us some videos of Maggie playing with some kind of lobster thing running around on a patio & one of some yummy Pop-Tarts. i have to go try these bouncy balls again, WOWIE WOW WOW WOW!!!!
