Toby was what we call a bounce-back which means he had been in a previous home. He had been in his former home for 3 years and they had a toddler and the wife was expecting another child and did not want to have to deal with a new baby, a toddler, and Toby. Toby did nothing wrong, he loved the toddler and never hurt her. I am fortunate to have adopted him after losing my almost 14 year old male to kidney failure in September 2003.
I think Aleya is keeping Toby young! Some times he acts like an old man, and when he's ready to go to bed, he thinks I should be too! I love his enthusiasm when it comes time to eat. He gets so excited, and when I call him to "come and get it", he runs in to the kitchen to eat! My beloved Miss Greta taught him how to beg for treats too, because she would bark and growl and sound really tough until I gave her a treat. Now Toby does that too, and that's usually the only time he will bark, unless of course Aleya is pestering him! Toby's racing name was Pat C Drop Zone.
Sadly Toby was sent to the Rainbow Bridge on 8/29/10 due to either a stroke or vestibular syndrome. He was 13-1/2 years old. He was a very good boy and I miss him!
