Birthday: September 17th 2003 Likes: Simba loves to follow you around like a magnet. He enjoys throwing his rawhides in the air before catching them. Pet-Peeves: Simba hates the smell of menthol and recoils when my dad playfully places a tiny bit on his muzzle. Favorite Toy: His fuzzy, squeaking duck. Favorite Food: He ABSOLUTELY LOVES bacon! Favorite Walk: Around the neighborhood. Especially when there are other dogs taking a stroll as well. Best Tricks: He knows how to sit, fetch, give his paw, and catch any object (except frisbees) in the air. Arrival Story: We got him Valentine's week of 2004. I was 13 years old and recently rejected by a crush. After arriving home, my dad asked me to accompany him to pick "something" up. That something was Simba. Last year he was diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer. I didn't think time would go by so quickly, but it did. He progressively got worse and it reached his lymph nodes. There was nothing else we could have done. The hardest part was seeing the process of euthanasia being performed on my best friend. I still cry seeing as it just happened two days ago. He was the best thing in my life and helped me with my confidence issues to speak with my future boyfriend who is currently my boyfriend now, and that same guy was there when Simba passed. I feel empty inside and so does the house. Last night though, a butterfly was fluttering in my house and had the same EXACT coloration as Simba. My dad and I both believe that maybe, JUST MAYBE, Simba came by to visit us and to reassure me that everything was gonna be okay. Still, it hurts so much...
