Arrival Story:
My husband and I were looking for a dog to train for search and rescue. We fell in love with Ripley's picture on Petfinder, and the shelter worker said that she was very sweet and loving. Ripley had been at the shelter for over 3 months and was nearing her time for euthanasia. So we made our trek from Nashville to somewhere in northern Mississippi to pick her up. When we arrived and met Ripley, we instantly knew that she would not be a good canidate for SAR. She was terrified and would not walk anywhere. She cowared when we tried to pet her and became paralized on a harness and lead. We knew that we could not use her for SAR, but could not leave her there.

Bio:
After many long hours of working on trust and training, Ripley's true personality finally began to show through. She eventually learned to love and trust again, and became the most loving and sweet dog. When we felt that Ripley was able to face a big change in her life, we re-homed her with a wonderful older couple that happened to have lots of hiking trails and loved to go for walks twice a day. Ripley is very happy now!
