Quick Bio:

Likes:
Right now, attention, attention and more attention. He has been neglected all his 4 years of life.

Pet-Peeves:
Hands and arms raised up in the air, especially if you are holding something.

Favorite Toy:
Right now he is still learning to play. He never had anything. This afternoon he had a field day with a rubber Kong bone, with biscuits in it. That kept him occupied for an hour!!!!

Favorite Food:
Anything that is FOOD LOL. At the "breeders" they were fed enmasse and it was survival of the fittest.

Favorite Walk:
Right now, he has only been here 3 days. We have not taken a walk yet, but he is well acclimated to our 3/4 acre back yard, and loving having room to run.

Best Tricks:
He answered the phone!!!!! Picked up the cordless phone on the deck when I was using the other cordless in the house; I heard a lot of heavy panting LOL.

Arrival Story:
I am a volunteer with www.lab-rescue.com, doing post-adoption home checks. On Thursday 21st I received an email saying that 54 dogs had been seized from a "breeding" operation in Sussex County Virginia, (read more about the story here LAB RESCUE HELP A DOG)and there was an overwhelming need for Foster homes. I responded, picked up Doobie on Friday, and promptly fell in love with this sweet underweight boy. By the next day, I could see that he was going to be a perfect fit with my female labs Bridget CGC and Talley, and made the immediate decision to adopt. How could I not? The timing was so perfect, having lost my so special Billiebob in March, and just needing that extra dog to nurture to help heal my heart all the way. Talley as well was not doing well with missing BB, and was showing an increase in her fearful behaviors. She especially has taken very fondly to Doobie. So now we are three. I am a dog trainer as well, and intend to train Doobie to also particpate in the Look What I Can Do! Dog Training business. LOOK WHAT I CAN DO! DOG TRAINING Eventually I also plan to bring him along in AKC Rally Obedience, behind Bridget.

Bio:
Look What I Can Do! Dog Training is committed to positive methods of training dogs. Doobie is already thriving under my care and I can`t wait to see him come along and learn new behaviors with clicker training. After 2 days he has become conditioned to his crate as a fun and safe place to go into, as opposed to the fearful reluctant behavior that was first in evidence. How rewarding that has been. At present he is timid of throwing movements of toys, and when garden implements are picked up, but this too shall pass.

Oh My Dog, there so many furriendly pups about this dogster place, I cannot believe it. I has been welcomed with open paws, that for sure.
Bridgey and Talley told me about it, but now I see it is true. Mom is just sorry she so crazy busy we cannot yet find time to write thanks to each and every thoughtful doggy that left a pressie and message on my page. I is so grateful to you all for your furriendship and welcome to dogster. Mom did help me to respond to every single PPR that come along, just now.

Mom picked me up on Friday 22nd in a transport rendezvous, answering a call for much needed Foster homes. By the next day she knew I had to be adopted into her fambly. And here I am. I is the luckiest labbie in the world to be living with Mom, Bridgey and Talley. Oh, the fun we have, me and them labbie sisfurs. You can read more about my rescue at this website. LAB RESCUE THAT RESCUED DOOBIE I was rescued along with 53 other dogs from a horrible breeding operation.

I am a 4 year old puppy Mom says. This is the first time I ever had my very own food dish to eat out of; we was all fed in a pack and it were awful hard getting enough to eat, and I had bites that had to be fixed when i were first at the Vets. Mom says I will look real good when I put on about 15 pounds. I met our own Doc Rick already this morning and gots medicine for my diarrhea, to make it stop. Mom told Doc that I was a Billiebob in a Lab body. I heard that was a real compliment. Doc Rick really liked me too!!!

I is learning how to get papers out of the trash and shred em, just like a puppy, and I is learning how to play with toys too, and chase em some, but I is a bit fearful with the throwing part, so Mom tosses em real careful like. I never had any toys before either. I am one of the really lucky ones. Some that was rescued is extremely fearful and is not doing as good as I am. : ( My Mom is a dog trainer and she is going to try and help with that.

Mom says that behavior problems is one of the main reasons a doggy goes to a shelter or rescue, and that lots of problems can be prevented. If you goes to her website, LOOK WHAT I CAN DO! DOG TRAINING there you can click on Helping Fido, and sign up for free animal behavior/training tips newsletter. We hopes it helps lots of doggys stay in their homes. I am going to write again soon! I think Mom is fading and we still wants to stop at DC and P*I*F, and oh, i been invited to so many groups I hope Mom can find time to let me play a bit. See ya next time,
Love Doobie the LuckyLabbie
