Arrival Story:
Ela was a brood dog for the RCMP in Innisfail, Alberta (Federal Police kennels). I was mourning the loss of our beautiful Bora, also a retired brood dog, who was my closest friend for over 6 years. The RCMP dogman in Yellowknife told us about Ela and another young male who were on the adoption list - our two boys were 3 and 10 months old at the time, so we chose the older female because we knew she would we good with children and I was afraid I would not have enough time to spend with the younger dog. Ela has been wonderful with our, and every, child she has encountered. She was a little skittish with men for the first year, but has since adjusted nicely to visitors. She is still very protective of her home and family, though...
Bio:
Ela is from Czech lines and many of her babies are working police dogs in Canada and the US.
