Likes:
I love helping Mom feed the horses and I love my kitty Bob. Sometimes I like to clobber him and chase him around the house... and other times I like to cuddle him like a teddy bear.

Pet-Peeves:
I hate it when anyone tries dancing without me or the cats play without me - I always jump in!

Favorite Toy:
My pretend duck - if I'm good and always bring it back I can go "real" hunting this year! I used to play with milk cartons I would steal out of the recycling bin... until the day Mom was in the shower and I got my head stuck and had to wait to be rescued

Favorite Food:
Dynamite Chicken & Rice, carrots and peanut butter

Favorite Walk:
It's so fun to run out in thhe pasture with the horses and scare mom... I also like swimming in our creek

Best Tricks:
I can jump back and forth over the stall rails - mom calls me a jumping bean

Arrival Story:
Mom and Dad did NOT need a third dog but when Dad ran into a friend in the grocery store that told him "I have to rush home because my Chesapeake is having pups tonight" he made Mom go look at them (me and my siblings) a couple weeks later. The minute they saw me they we were in love and they came back to get me four weeks later.

Bio:
My mommy came from a fancy hunting/feild trial kennel but she got knocked up by the neighbors Black Lab when her owners didn't realize that the invisible fence kept her in but didn't keep the neighbors dogs out! Me and all my siblings were given away.

Hunting dog diary! (Trail dog in time off)

Hey you - dog of the week... Mastiffs!

I see that you guys are dog of the week this week - and this is interesting because I just saw two of you for the first time on Sunday. Mom and Dad took me trail riding and when they spotted two big mastiffs coming our way with their parents Mom immediately put my leash on and told me to sit. Sometimes I just can't mind no matter how hard I try... I almost pulled Mom right off her horse barking and snarling and trying to get to those big dogs! Mom says I'm very lucky that those Mastiffs had good manners and stayed with their parents - I got a swat on the butt and a good scolding... she says those dogs could of torn me apart - nah! I'm not really sure what I was going to do if I did get to them - maybe just say hi and let them know I'm tough... at least I think I'm pretty tough... but I guess I do weigh 60 pounds and they looked to each be double that - at least! Maybe next time I'll try to be a little more friendly since Mom says I'm going to get myself into trouble.

I'm so excited!

Oh boy, oh boy - I found out last night that my dad is taking me hunting this fall! I'm going to turn two on October 3rd and I've been working really hard at minding real well, swimming real strong and bringing back the things mom and dad throw into the water for me. (Every once in a while I get side tracked by my brother Bentley's antics and I forget to listen to mom and dad but I don't do this very often anymore.)

Last night dad threw my toy duck as far as he could and I swam all the way out and got it! On my way back with it I saw Bentley's toy and he wasn't coming out to get it because it was too far for him... so I took my duck to shore then jumped right back in and went and got Bentley's toy and brought it back to dad too - he was really proud of me!

Mom says she is nervous bout letting me go hunting because I am her baby and she is afraid something could happen to me out in the field with dad. Nah! I giver her lots of kisses and hope she knows I'll be careful and that I'll have so much fun. My dad is very excited and hoping that I can be a really good hunting dog - hopefully as good as grandpa's dog Jake! (Jake is such a serious hunter that there have been times he does the hunting for the hunters - he's jumped into the air and grabbed a bird and brought it back!)
