Civil War Reenactments

On September 6, mom took Chloe, Jasper and me to Huntington Beach for the annual Labor Day Civil War Reenactments. We were so excited, we tugged on the leash all day. Mom said we were behaving like animals. Uh, duh! Well, we have been to tons of training and we know how to heel, but the smells were just too overwhelming. We sniffed all day, even met other dogs, were petted and felt so welcomed there. Many of the reenactors also take their well behaved dogs with them. We were happy to be with our parents all day, and although mom was nervous about our reactions to the loud canons going off, we were just fine. Come on mom, we are tough little chihuahuas! We were so tired on our way back that we fell asleep in the car, even mom was sleepy on the way back.

Beach Day!

Last week mom took me, Summer, and Jasper to the beach. I'd never been there before. There were dogs everywhere! My sister and brother took off running, but I stayed near mom. Mom was happy that I didn't take off running like Jasper, she often has to chase him. She said we get to go again tomorrow, but maybe Jasper won't get to run off leash again. I enjoyed digging in the sand and finding sticks and pieces of plastic. It was so cool, you never knew what you would find. I didn't go int the water, it came at me and I backed away. Lots of dogs came by to sniff me, and I was shy and a bit scared but it was ok. I think I'll have fun tomorrow.

Feeling yucky

What a day, I'm glad it's over. Today mom learned a lesson, don't underestimate my sister Chloe's tenacity. Mom left out my big sister's chondroitin glucosamine supplements. The bottle was sealed with the cap on. However, my sister is a determined little girl, so she was able to unscrew the lid open. She ate a bunch of supplements. I accompanied her and when mom came to see what was going on, she didn't know how many had already been consumed. She smelled our breath and could tell that we both ate some. She counted how many were in the bottle and estimated how many we'd eaten. She called the emergency clinic and they told her she could induce vomiting by giving us each 2 tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide. Yuck! I vomited immediately, but it took about one hour before Chloe vomited on mom's carpet. She saw that Chloe had eaten a whole bunch of those supplements. I'm settling in to sleep the day off now, just glad that the day is over. Mom will be more careful now I know, because she felt so horrible making me drink that stuff, and I did too.
