If you are looking for a companion who would like nothing better than to cuddle with you, Tyson is your pup. (Well, he might pick food over cuddling with you, but it would be a toss-up). He was turned over to animal control in Carthage, IL, along with his two brothers, after a complaint was filed about them living in a mud pit with no protection. The unwanted litter was an unplanned mating between the owner’s female boxer and a neighbor’s lab.
Tyson is very thin at only 21 pounds at 6 months. His two littermates, who were twice his size, were rescued by another shelter. It’s obvious that nobody paid attention at feeding time to make sure that all 3 pups were getting their share of food. Tyson is now warm and dry in his foster home and getting plenty of nutritious food and supplements to help him gain weight.
He is a real sweetheart. He is working on his housetraining and learning that toys are fun and the sofa, and even his crate, are much more comfortable than mud. He gets along fine with the other four large dogs in his foster home. He would do best in a home where he won’t be left alone for long periods of time so he can continue working on his housetraining.
