Arrival Story: Pi is Chase's dad (no, I did not have a hand in the breeding). He is the reason I fell head over heels in love with Aussies, when I first meet him... I was in love. One day, Chase's breeder sent out an email stating she was having some money issues and needed to re home her dogs, which include both of Chase's parents. My mouth dropped! I always wanted Pi, since I first laid eyes on him I had secretly hoped one day I could take him after his show career was over. Anyways, when I read this I emailed the breeder and asked if she could please hold off on finding a home for Pi until I could talk to my husband.. My husband wasn't so sure at first and we took Pi home as a "test" needless to say we never gave him back :)
Bio: Pi lived out on a farm type land before we got him and spent 95% of his time outside. When he came to live with us, he start staying inside and ever since then... He rather be in the house then anywhere else (unless it involves the dog park or walks). Pi had been shown in conformation since he was around 2 months old, he never finished (though he did get some BOS) as he hated showing, lucky for him here he gets to just be a normal dog! Pi has been though a lot in the time we've had him, only after having him a week it came out he had demodex mange.. Within a year, he lost most of his hair, had to be shaved down, lost a lot of weight and had to deal with nasty sores on his body from all the itching (not to mention he has to wear shirts!) but he is still in wonderful spirits! Pi won't let anything bring him down! We went though so much together in a short time and I couldn't ask for a more loving, gentle soul.

I've Been On Dogster Since:
Thought I'd give an update. For a month or so, I got really bad again. I lost a lot of hair, lost weight and just looked really bad. Mom was at her end, she just didn't know what to do.. and as much as it hurts her to say it (and me!) she even thought for a second of putting me down. But then, she came back to reality and realized that I wasn't suffering!
Boy is she glad she did!!! It's been a month and I'm doing G-R-E-A-T! almost all of my hair has grown back (My mane still has some growing) and I have no bald spots. I am still a skinny and my skin is a little flaky.. but I have improved once again!
A fellow dogster sent me a wonderful thing about demodex and it really helped mom out. She now knows that it can come and go at anytime and to look for triggers. She also knows just what to do if I break out!
I ran out of my Pills & Tea Tree Shampoo so mom took me to Petsmart to get some more! Well, we got my pills and shampoo and went to look at shirts... Since I seem to get them dirty so fast ;) and I was walking as good as ever being a good boy and we walked by a women holding what looked like a Maltese Puppy. I didn't even notice the puppy and mom just walked by.. She stopped and started looking at the shirts.. When mom looked over she saw the women staring at me with this disgusted look. Mom ignored it since we get that more then we would like.. then mom bent down and picked up a red shirt and told me "I think this would look good on you Mr. Pi" and I wiggled my butt and the lady looked at us, rolled her eyes and went "ugh" all while looking at me.. and walked away. It took mom everything in her to tell this women to get over herself.. but instead she just kept on her way.
The people up at the front gave me lots of love and kept saying I was still as handsome as ever! Mom told them how much better I was getting and they were all really happy!
Wow, I can't believe it's been a whole month already!
So far, everythings going good. I'm going to list the things raw has changed for me so far.
-Skin. Pi's skin has improved a lot. It's a normal pink, still a little flakey but when he rubs up against you for cuddles you don't get covered in a bunch of little white snow flakes (lol). Sores and scabs have gone away.
-Weight. Pi has put on a good amount of weight. We haven't taken him to the vet to be weight yet, but just looking at him you can see he has put on a lot. His ribs don't stick out nearly as much and when you give him back scratches it doesn't feel like petting bone!
-Hair. Pi's hair has stopped falling out and actually beginning to come back in HEALTHY.
-Teeth. His teeth have already started looking better! Oh and his breath! He has the BEST breath out of all my doggies!
-Poops. Lets just say, they don't lie about nice small raw poops ;o)
So.. overall I am VERY happy I switched to raw. It's by far the best choice I have made for Pi yet. We are starting organs this week.. A little nervous about it, but he's been doing great with red meat.. So I think it's safe.
