Favorite Food: He's a beagle. There isn't a food that he doesn't love
Favorite Walk: Around the neighborhood
Best Tricks: He sits, stays, crawls, rolls over; pretty impressive!
Arrival Story: Had to put our great wonderful dog 14 year old dog Mick to sleep in February of '09 and our American Eskimo Kedzie really took it hard. I've had beagle mixes before and wanted another beagle. Found our boy at the Chicago Canine Rescue group. He was almost 2 years old; had originally come from a high kill shelter in downstate IL; then was in the CCR shelter and finally to new owners who had Oliver for 8 months before returning him for behavioural issues. He was in foster care when we adopted him in March of '09. He received the Paw of Approval stamp from Kedzie and joined us a week later.
Bio: We renamed him Oliver and he's been one great big hoot since we got him in March. It was obvious that he's had some obedience training, which was great since beagles tend to be a bit stubborn. We don't think he'd ever lived anywhere with a fenced in yard, so he was actually frightened to be left out in the yard when we weren't with him. He's fine now and loves everyone! He has a contingent of kids on the block who ring the doorbell or come to the back fence to ask if he can come out and play. Oliver is very good with kids; doesn't jump up and just loves the attention.
