Well I have been told that 18 months is the adult age for a American Pit Bull Terrier, But she is just a big baby. I can not say enough about Roxy Moxy. She is the most submissive Pit Bull our vet has ever seen and she is truly becoming an ambassador to her breed. I have never been this attached to any animal. Words can not describe the Joy she has brought to our lives. We call her the Squirrel hunting queen.

Roxy is our birthday girl 03-22-2010. Well what a first year, we have seen Roxy go through so many changes and I know now that we will never regret getting an American Pit Bull Terrier. She has stolen our hearts and the hearts of our neighbors. She is so full of affection and gets so excited when meeting new people. Our biggest chore has been teaching her not to jump up on people, Not all people like being licked to death.
She has proven to be very submissive when meeting other dogs and cats for that matter.
And at the same time showing not to mistake her loving playfulness for weakness. Roxy is a very strong dog. Her favorite game is playing keep away, and wrestling with Dad. She loves going to the football field where its fenced in and to run off leash. We live in a city with not one dog park if you can believe it. She loves the water and lying down at dads feet. We have had her sense 8 weeks old. We should have named her Lucky, Because she is so very fortunate to not have suffered as so very very many Pits do.That is why we feel its our Job and Responsibility to make Roxy an Ambassador to her breed.
In two more years she will be wearing a Service Dog Vest, For medical alert, She has learned to pick things up from floor and give them to you, she has learned to turn lights off and on, soon she will be learning how to open and close doors. One more thing, Roxy Is Spoiled Rotten!!!

Well it seems Roxy has found a new game she likes, " Keep Away". She loves to get her toys and dare you to try to get it from her. She has come to a calming point in her wild youth. weighing in at 47 pds of love and affection.
She is just all Love.
Licking you to death is not a problem for her. She Loves the snow, she saw her first snow fall this month and decided that snow is " IN " She just went wild in it. This will be Roxy's last Diary entry until her first Birthday.

Well I been told that 8 months is the first slow down period, Problem is no one told Roxy that BOL. She weighs in at 45 pds and is so full of affection it can be over bearing at times. She is maturing and becoming a Dog.
Its truly been a blessing raising her, With all the stuff she has chewed up we still do not regret ever getting her. A new trait Roxy has picked up is catching her bones in mid air & talking to you when your busy. She is an attention getter.

Well we are not sure how much more Roxy will grow, She weighs in at 42 pds now. Let no one kid you Spaying her did not calm her down or slow her down one bit. (BOL) She is just as energetic as ever. She loves bringing her toys to us to play with her. ( The ones she has not destroyed anyways BOL ). We have to put her rope up now, unless we are playing tug of war with her. I never knew that a dog could chew up a rope before and we need to be careful that she dose not swallow string. So up it go's unless we supervise her with it.

We got Roxy at 6 weeks old and its hard to believe she is now 6 months weighing in at 38 pds. She has grown so fast, and she still loves lying on my feet. Tug of war is still her favorite game.
She brings her rope and puts her head in my lap to play. So far no negative experiences and we hope to keep it that way. She is a very calm dog, yet has her moments as any pup would. She definitely wants to be the top dog. Between her and our feisty Rat Terrier its a challenge. Our Little Rat Terrier takes no guff from the big bad pit. Yet they are inseparable. Sadie is Roxy's best friend she is a Boxer that lives up the street, Her and Roxy play very rough together. Roxy knows better then to play that rough with Loretta our Rat Terrier. Roxy is truly a dream come true, we could not have hoped for a better dog.

Yes Roxy was spayed yesterday and now she is a big girl. 5 months old weighing in at 33 pds. Roxy knew when we stopped feeding her the night before last that something was up. The next morning when we got up Roxy was whimpering. She knew something was coming, We had to have her at the vets office by 7:30 am. She behaved so well and I was so impressed, even the vet took notice of it.
He could not believe at how calm mannered she was. Roxy made us very proud of her. We brought her home 6 hours later, she got carried in the house by Dad. She has been out of it as to be expected, But she still hears that Peanut Butter Jar. She has been laying close to us sense we been home. She needs to stay calm for a week or so which means no playing with her boxer friend Sadie. No jumping or running for at least 10 days.

Well our baby girl is getting big, she is 30 pounds now at 4 1/2 months old. She is in her testing period where she wants to find her limits around the house.
This is the difficult period of owning a puppy, and a defining point in our relationship. (Patients Patients Patients) If any dog knew how to lay on those puppy dog eyes Then its Roxy. Every time she gets caught doing something she should not be doing she just pours them on. We believe if you want a good dog then this is where it begins, Bear her puppy hood well and you will have a good dog. She is lovable and full of affection.
She loves people and other dogs, We socialize her a great deal hoping to keep these very fine qualities in her.

She is growing before our eyes, She is very playful and in her own way respectful. She gets into trouble as a normal pup, Yet she listens and retreats when she gets caught. She is bigger then are Rat Terrier now and still loves playing with her. She just got her Rabbis Shot and was licensed at the city hall.
She got front Line and heart guard. We just got 34 pds of puppy food for her. She is learning very fast and it amazes us to see the changes.

Well Roxy is showing how much she can learn now, no more excuses. She has all but stopped her nipping out of playfulness and we are very encouraged by this. She is also doing very well on the leash now when we walk her, She dose not pull half as much as she use to. We have let her stay out of her crate over night for the past week and she has behaved herself very well. She is a snuggle bug and loves to cuddle close to us. We also took Roxy to Maine with us to visit her mother and siblings, it was like she never left, You could not separate Roxy from her mother Kylee . It was a true family reunion. Her two sisters were there, Powder, Ruby, and her brother Buddy. 5 Pits in the same house, What a weekend.
