Arrival Story:
Lulu came to my life at the age of 4 months. She was gorgeous and affectionate but painfully timid, as she had not been socialized well and had had almost no exposure to the outside world. I was determined to make sure she will catch up ASAP. So I read every book and article I could find about fearful dogs, and they all said that the best way to increase confidence is through training. We completed Puppy Kindergarten and are almost done with Basic Obedience class (next will be Good Citizen class). I have been taking Lulu with me everywhere I possibly could - to friends' houses, outdoor shopping malls and cafes, hiking, etc., so she could meet as many different people as possible and get accustomed to different surroundings, sounds, smells... In 4 short months she has come a long way and now loves to play with other dogs! And she has become quite the little shopaholic! I cannot pass a store without her wanting to go in and check it out!
