It's been almost two weeks now since I was adopted by my new family. At first I was shy, but then my Dad took me for four walks on Sunday and I had a blast. My new home is in a place called Oak Park that has so many trees I think I must be in a forest. On my first day, I started by running around the yard with my dog brother Sparky, and then Mom and Dad and human brother Max took me inside and let me wander around as I pleased. They quickly saw I wasn't destructive so they let me go wherever I wanted. At night they set up a matress alongside Max but before long I jumped into bed with him.
My dad says I have a "face frozen in anxiety", whatever that means. Dad says he didn't intend to adopt another dog but he kept coming back to my picture on the website and fell in love with me. They're always hugging and kissing and petting me. They say that for every day of sadness in my past, they'll give me a hundred days of happiness. The eating is good here. My dad crumples chicken jerky in my food and deals with the guilt of leaving me in the morning by giving me a doggie biscuit. I have a blast with Sparky in the yard. I like to steal his frisbee and run around the yard. He's too plumb to catch me. Here's a picture of me(legs in air) in bed with Sparky. Dad wants to thank everyone who helped rescue me. Me too.

I found my forever family today!

Today was a big day! I went to a cool thing called a "dog park" with my foster brothers and fellow Labradors, Teddy Bear and Davey Dog. It is a big fenced in area with trails and trees and lots of other pups to run with. There must have been 7 or 8 other yellow Labs there plus LOTs of other dogs - it was crazy! We ran and ran and ran, played with other pups, peed on stuff, and ran some more.

Then, after we came home and got breakfast, I got in the car with my foster parents and went to a place called PetSmart, and met some MORE pups! A couple of the little yippy dogs even had the nerve to bark and growl at me - but I growled back and they got scared and shut up! The nerve! I'm a big tough yellow Lab! Those little yappers don't know what I've been through to get here.

Then... the Man and Lady and Young Man came to meet me. They brought my new fur brother, a fellow yellow Lab named Sparky. He growled at me a little at first, but we took a walk together, I watched him poop, and we were good from then on. After we all got to know each other and started falling in love, they got me a collar and leash, and put it on. My foster parents gave me a hug and kiss, and I was off to the car with my new family. My heartfelt thanks go to the rescue people who got me out of a really miserable situation, and transported me to my foster parents. And, thanks to Teddy and Davey for having so much fun with me and sharing their house!

Next entry will be dictated to my new family to type. Woofs from Lilly the Labrador. ;~)
