Man! You guys oughta see this place! It's fabulous! Well I guess you could call it Paradise! There are fields to run in and streams to splash in and snow to jump in (provided especially for us snow dogs)! The weather is perfect! We can play outside all day and never have to worry about cars getting in our way or people not wanting us around! Oh and the food is delicious! And the best thing- I can run and play again! I feel like a pup! No pain! No disease! My legs are perfect! My coat is shiny! Hey and guess what! I don't shed! (Mom would love that!) I'm seeing some old friends and meeting many new ones! Some of my friends even have there owners here with them! I do miss my family! But there is really no reason to be sad! I'm waiting for them to join me! I'm positive they will love it here too! Well I just wanted to let you know that I have made that wonderful journey to my forever home! I have enjoyed getting to know all of you! And one day I know we will all be together again!

Until then - T

From "Mom"

Tundra was put to sleep on Monday March 27 at age 13. He was happy until the end but very ready to go. His legs had given out and he was no longer able to stand up. His weight had dropped considerably. Thank you to all at Williams Animal Hospital in Murfreesboro who made a painful decision easier and our goodbyes peaceful. Tundra will be forever remembered by his "humans" as the BEST DOG EVER. You will always be in our hearts big fella and we can't wait to see you again!

The Dog Days of Summer

How's that for a catchy title??? Anyway its been hot here- not at all desireable for a snow dog like myself. I don't think we have had a day under 90 in months! Gotta love that AC! Anyway its been a busy couple of months! Napping, Napping, eating, more napping! I love retirement! In another week we move to a new home! I'm pretty cool with this. I hear there are plenty of canine friends in the neighborhood to get acquainted with! Speaking of canine friends, I'm getting a new brother next week. His name is Garrett and my Mom and Dad are adopting him from a rescue shelter. He just needs to get his shots and have a small operation (ewww!! Been there done that bro. Yes a necessary part of life- but- ewww! My thoughts and prayers are with ya buddy!) and he will be able to come home on Wednesday. I'm looking forward to having some canine company. After my cousin Dexter passed away a couple of months ago its been rather lonely around here! Garrett is an 18 month old black lab mix, a little smaller than me, and from what I understand a real go-getter! Great! Now maybe my humans will quit bugging me every time they want to go to the Greenway for a 3 mile walk! Don't they understand the concept of retirement?? A walk around the block is more than enough exercise for me- for an entire month! But they seem to think this whole "walk" thing is healthy for me! Oh well, as long as they keep up the generous supply of treats and air conditioning I won't complain too loudly! Well gotta go! I've been awake for over 15 minutes and it's time for a nap!
Until next time!

First Day of Spring

Hey everyone! Spring has sprung! (ok that was really tacky!) Even though I am a snow dog its still nice to have the warm sunshine coming through the window during my afternoon naps! And to wake up to the sound of the birds chirping good morning from the tree tops! Just not so early guys OK!!! It's been a long time since I checked in! Got a new pup pal today! Great to know you Nikita! Been a busy couple of months around here! Takes a lot out of a guy to sleep all day! Anyway, a lot has happened since I checked in with you all. We lost our best bud Smokey about a month ago. He usually hangs out in our yard and one day he just didn't come home! We checked the shelter and all over but he never did show up! Just isn't the same without his cute furry mug around here! If you see this Smokey We love ya! The family's fixin' up the place to get ready to move! It's a little disruptive to my daily naps but they're promising me an even bigger yard to run and play in. Run and play??? What do they think I am- a spring chicken..uh dog ..uh never mind! Anyway I'm 12! Just give me a patch of sun and a nice soft place to lay my head and I'm in heaven! Gotta love 'em though! Actually it might be nice to have some new smells and sights! Well better run (ha ha) time for my morning nap! And my secretary mom just informed me she's getting carpel tunnel from all this typing! It's so hard to find good help now-a-days! Talk to y'all soon! T
