Arrival Story:
Mom and Dad decided that the family was big enough and there would be no more dogs. However, six months later Mom was in a pet store looking for a harness small enough to fit Pica and wouldn't you know it, there was a cute, tiny Chi. Mom played with her and then called Dad and begged for another puppy. (She knew in her heart that she couldn't get another dog.) Dad said no and that was that. Or so Mom thought. Three days later on Mom and Dad's anniversary, Dad gave Mom a card with a puppy on it. Inside it said that Mom could pick up her puppy in four days at the pet store. By that time, Mom had realized she didn't need another dog, so she was shocked and nervous. She even prayed that the puppy would be sold to someone else by mistake! And the puppy was! Dad was furious. Mom said things like, "That's okay, honey, it's the thought that counts." But Dad had bought Mom a Chi puppy and a Chi puppy she was going to get. He called all the breeders he could locate, but no one had puppies ready. Finally he located a puppy that turned out to be the sister to the puppy in the pet store. Dad took Mom to see the puppy. Mom picked the puppy up and she snuggled in Mom's arms and gave her a little kiss. That did it. They came home with Annie (short for anniversary.) Annie is the sweetest, most polite and gentle Chi. She weighs four pounds.
