Arrival Story: Ziggy was adopted around Feb 2008. In January of 2008 he was found wandering the streets of Washington Heights in New York City in the middle of frozen winter in January and was picked up by County Animal Control. The paper from Animal Control says he was found on 164th St. and dyckman Ave. in Manhattan. He is a true and true Manhattanite New Yorker. Poor kid was frozen and scared when they found him on the streets but he was in good health and alert. Being as crowded as shelters can be he was put up for adoption but the week he was picked up the weather was bad so no one adopted him.
He was taken out of the shelter by a wonderful small local rescue group "Sugar Mutts" and was fostered in hip Williamsburg in Brooklyn, NY where he stayed for about 2 weeks before I came along.
All the while, the better part of the 2007/2008, I was searching on petfinder.com trying to find a small dog to adopt. I knew I wanted to adopt and was not going to BUY a dog because there are too many dogs that needs home and rescue dogs are some of the best dogs. I was actually looking for a manchester terrier, rat terrier or a miniature doberman when i came across the cutest face and those big ears but i wasn't looking for a Chihuahua, though he is bigger than the other Chihuahua and is a mix but don't know exactly what the other mix is, Jack Russell is my guess. His name was Tommy and it said that he loves people and other dogs. So I just couldn't resist and started the paperwork right then and there. He was just so cute and needed a home. it was the first application for adoption I had filled out. That was a Saturday and then on Sunday I got a call from Amy of Sugar Mutts rescue and they really liked my application (I work freelance and frequently work at home) and they spoke to one of my best friends Vincent who gave me a glowing review of my glowing personality and how responsible I am (well became, really).
so that very Sunday, just one day after i put in an application, I met TOMMY at a Williamsburg petstore (his foster lived upstairs), and he was just adorable energetic and friendly to people. He was about 12 pounds and just full of live and he came to me when i called and was curious and so friendly towards me. It was love at first sight so I took him back on the subway into Manhattan and we haven't looked back since. I gave him a new name "ZIGGY", wipe the slates clean and we started our lives all over again.
Bio: This is no joke, when i first met Ziggy to take him home, his foster dad told me that he eat a couple bags of his WEED. Ziggy is POTHEAD! OMG.

I've Been On Dogster Since:
Back again to my old self. after 5 horrible days of diarrhea. monday it was the worst and went to the vet. got medicine that made me sleepy. but all better now. now only if i can find some extra food.
Still has the runs, we are seeing the vet if i continue this. this is not cool. how can i start my career when this keeps happening to me. i will feel better and start this blog full force. hope i feel better.
This was going to be the day i start my new career as a dogger, a dog who blogs and i planned this yesterday but when i woke up today, MAJOR DIARRHEA!! boy o'boy it was horrid as i was shaking like a leaf. I was so confused i couldn't even eat which NEVER EVER HAPPENS. Something surprised my master when i had my bout, he didn't have to clean up the mess. I will explain. You know the street grates that goes down into the drain which i love going # 2 on so i used it, it was all watery, yuck, i know, but it all went down the drain and there were no solids for him to pick up. So my master told me, if I ever learn to use the toilet, i can have the moon, i can eat anything i want, i can do anything in the world. Sounds like a lot of work, but now i have got something to look forward to and so simple: use the toilet rule the world.
Anyway, now i feel much better now and can go about my business. If nothing else, i had something exciting to write about as a dogger!! Happy days. Ziggy April 2009
