Hello, Hello, Hellooo!! It's me Larkin, i'm back in the rescue... again!! I am a very hyper, sometimes spastic, 1 yr old brindle boxer girl. I am told that I am just stunning with the cutest face ever... and I act like I know it!! Hey, if everyone told you that you were beautiful all the time, your head would get big too I bet!! I'm at my foster home, and I am working on realizing that I am not queen bee anymore, and I really like it... it takes all the pressue off of trying to run everything!! I have a lot of energy and I require exercise everyday, not just play in a backyard, I love that don't get me wrong, but I need a long walk or a run to burn my energy off efficiently. I have been doing some backpack work here at my foster home and I love it, I have a job when I carry my pack around! I would love to go on hikes with it too, and carry all of our important stuff! If I have gotten my exercise for the day, I am a very good girl, I lounge around the house and chew a good bone, or entertain myself with a toy, I love to play fetch with someone too!! I have met the male and female boxers here and I like both of them, we just played and played, and played, it was great!! I had an incident with a small dog previously, so if you adopt me, we will have to be careful around those little things. I can be strong on a leash, but I have done amazing with the Gentle Leader head collar and my foster mom says that I should be walked in it from now on because I don't pull at all, not one single bit!! I am learning some house manners while i'm here, I didn't have ANY manners at first, but just within a few days I am really catching on to all my new boundaries, no one has ever taught me all this stuff before, so I am learning how to be a civilized lady now, and I really like it because my foster parents get so proud when I listen to them and stay off furniture, or out of the kitchen, I like to please them..I really do, but you have to be consistent with me so I will understand I can't get away with things anymore. I am very smart, and have learned some cool tricks too, and i'm continuing to learn more. Mom says it will challenge my mind a little... I just think they are fun and I get some yummy snacks so I do them! I can sit, lay down, stay (for the most part, i'm still mastering this one), I can crawl (I am told i look super cute when I do this... there I go getting a big head again), I have started working on roll over too and I am really getting it, i'm sure I will have that one mastered within a few days as well. My foster mom says i'm going to meet some kids soon, but I have to prove to her that I won't jump on adults anymore when I meet them, before I can meet any children... I know i can do it, mom says she has faith in me so I can't let her down! Well thats all for now, my foster mom wants to type now so I gotta get off, but i'll talk to all my fans again soon :-)... don't forget to put your applications in for me, if you think you're up for the challenge!!
Hi, this is Larkin's foster mom,
Larkin is a great girl, she has just been misunderstood a little. She is a typical 1 yr old boxer, she is hyper and needs to be exercised, challenged, and mentally stimulated so she doesn't get destructive, disobedient, and dominant. She needs someone that is going to be dedicated to working with her and continuing her training and exercising her regularly. She needs a strong leader in her life so she knows who is boss (not her). She has done great with the rules in my house, but it has taken time and consistency and she will need that in her new home as well. She is the biggest sweetheart there is and loves to cuddle and be with you. She loves to give kisses, she gives the best slobbery kisses ever!!! She is such a super dog and would be great for a person that has the time to continue her training, she is going to be such an amazing dog once she gets out of her akward puppy phase :-) She just needs someone to stick by her side and not give up on her! She would be a great hiking or running partner, she sticks right by my side on our walks and runs, I have to use the Gentle Leader head collar, but she is absolutely fabulous! Please, if you have the time she deserves, put your application in for her, you won't regret it, she will steal your heart!!
