Birthday: October 15th 2008 Likes: As you can see from all of my pictures; I love to play with other dogs! Click on [See My Dogster Plus Photobook] & scroll down-to see more CUTE pics of me!) Pet-Peeves: Being alone, without another dog to show her whats Ok. Strangers; esp when they try to touch her Favorite Toy: Whatever "River" (her foster-sis) has! Favorite Food: Wellness Puppy Food Favorite Walk: Anywhere her person is going! Best Tricks: fitting herself under the bed-which is only about 7-8" off the ground Arrival Story: When Emma Sue was 4 mo's old she was turned into the shelter in Canton. At the same time that she was turned in; a puppy-mill type breeder had been busted and more than 30 dogs were brought into that same shelter. That meant that MANY dogs were going to have to be euthanized to make room for so many incoming dogs. We (Tx Cattle Dog Rescue) agreed to pull Emma "sight-unseen", to save her life. Bio: Emma Sue is a great-natured cutie-pie who needs a little extra loving-kindness and patience. When Emma came to me, she was scared of everything--including the other dogs and especially of people. When I pulled her out of the crate (literally) that she had been transported in, she trembled like her bones were rattling. As soon as I let her go she ran and hid. She stayed under my bed for the first 2 days. On the 3rd day she started coming out and watching the other dogs (from a "safe" distance) She warmed up to the other dogs within a couple of days after that, and soon was always IN the middle whenever any (or all) of her foster siblings are playing. UPDATE 4/16/09: When I first got Emma, she was very afraid of being touched by me-or anyone; and she trembled severely whenever I picked her up or held her. She has made tremendous progress over the last 2 months. She now loves to be petted and give lots of kisses; and will now follow you everywhere. Her eyes dance with excitement when you say her name -& when you come home. This super-sweet little girl is so deserving of a special loving home! Forums Motto: Not afraid anymore! INSIDE: Emma is housebroken. she has not had any "accidents" in my house since her 1st-&-2nd week here. {I've had her for 3 months} She quickly learned how to use the doggie-door (from watching the other dogs) and is now 100% successful at taking her bizness outside!
Vet Care: Emma Sue is completely healthy and current on all necessary vet services. She has been spayed and has had all her vaccinations. She is Heartworm Negative and on HW Preventative. She has also been microchipped
Adoption Interest: 5/03/09: We think that the perfect home for Emma Sue has finally found her! Emma is currently "on hold"-pending completion of the final Adoption Process....
