That new dog

Grrrr...

My mom, my favorite person in the whole entire world has betrayed me and I am SO MAD! Last week, first she left me for a whole day and night (I stayed at my grandparent's house) and when she came home she reeked of some other dog. She carried me outside and there it was: this goofy looking red-headed thing galloping towards me. "This is Meagan!" My mom cooed, "She's your new sister!" Fabulous. That's faaaabulous. Did I ask for a sister? No, I certainly did not. Did I want one? NO, not really!

Mom says that having a sister will help me to play more and be more friendly. I don't want to be friendly. I was perfectly happy sleeping all day and all night and laying in mom's lap as much as possible. Now that THING is in her lap half the time. When I see her there I growl and leave the room. In fact, I can hardly even bring myself to look at her- this Meagan... what kind of name is Meagan anyway? Definitely not as sophisticated as Mattie. That's for sure.

Today mom took us for a walk and attached us with the brace lead so not only did I have to walk next to Meagan, I was attached to her! I know her back legs are weak so I made sure to walk faster than her so she really had to work to keep up. Mom kept telling me to heel and to slow down. I didn't want to make mom mad so I did what she asked and she told me I was a very good girl. But believe me, I didn't want to. Mom says I'm being a snot to Meagan but I don't care. I don't want to be a big sister and take Meagan outside with me. Grrrrr.....

What's more is that I can't get away from Meagan. Mom took me with her to my dad's house a few days ago and I was so happy to be there by myself. But the next night she brought Meagan along too so now even dad likes Meagan! But my dad told me that I'm his pretty little girl and that he knows I'm the smartest and cutest dog in the whole world. At least someone appreciates my intelligence and good looks!

I'm off now to try to think of ways to send Meagan back to wherever she came from. She claims she came from the same place I did but I don't remember because I was a baby when I came to live with my mom and dad. She did say that my birth parents said "hello" so maybe she's not all bad. We'll see... maybe if I can just educate her a little bit.

Woof Woof,
Lady Madelyn
