Arrival Story:
Although I have loved and lived with dogs all my life, I just recently lost my beloved Hunter Segal....Feb 8th. He was a Beagle ..I will try to add a photo, and although I was never really a Beagle person ( although there is no dog I do not love)...Hunter was an Angel from heaven. We were like two souls in one. He was never sick but the one time he almost died 3 years ago of IVDD, I instinctively knew and saved his life. Not so lucky this time, on Feb 8th 2009 IVDD took Hunter,. He was only 13. I knew I had to move on eventually but was very worried about who follow Hunter. I knew I had to be fair and have an open and loving heart with no comparisons to Hunter. We just moved to Toronto from Princeton NJ ( and New York City) and that made the whole thing even tougher. My husband was away when Hunter passed away and I knew no one in the country. Then I saw Shiloh on a Canadian website. She was breed by a small family breeder. I knew NOTHING about this rare breed Coton de Tulear but did a bit of reading. Julie, the breeder was wonderful and talked to me for hours.

Bio:
I was still a bit hesitant and had just had MAJOR oral surgery. My husband was traveling and I was alone in a new country in a new home, my cars had not even come from the States yet,. So with the mouth full of oral surgery wounds and stitches, and a broken heart, and no car, I was in no condition to go to see a pup. And we tabled the whole thing for a while, although the litter of pups was going fast, and I was sure I would not be able to get one. Two days later, the breeder Julie called and said her husband was going to be going to the airport ( and my condo was on the way) and did I want him to stop by with the pup just for a look?. I said of course. The rest is history., Shiloh was fabulous from the first second and everywhere we go, people literally mob us as she is so incredibly cute and loving and beautiful. I am trying to connect with other Coton owners to learn some tips as the breed is so rare and I can tell she is incredibly intelligent and good early training is a must. I want to learn everything I can. She is with me now just less than two weeks. … Something is telling me that I had better get back to my really strong puppy training and Shiloh is so pretty and sweet , it is really easy to spoil her. She is very smart and very active although a real go along get along. Will keep you all posted as we go. she is 9 weeks old right now but SMART!!! 4/04/09
