It was the Bell County Animal Clinic who first contacted me regarding Blue, (her name was Momma Blue, but we call her Blue for short). It was 2 years and 8 months after I lost Dreyfuss to kidney failure, and my parents had just lost BoBo to gastric torsion. BoBo's vet techs knew I wanted to adopt a husky or another malamute. One of them contacted me and told me about Momma Blue. She had been seized from someone who starved her and allowed flies to chew on her ears. I am told she weighed 19 pounds when she was seized, and was nursing a puppy. (Yes, her puppy was also adopted into a good home)! When I adopted Blue, she weighed 39 pounds, and was still extremely thin, and underweight. A female husky should weigh 55 pounds. Now, Blue weighs 64 pounds, and actually needs to lose a little bit of weight! I was literally shocked when I first met Blue at how thin she was, but the first thing she did was jump up on me and lick me right in the mouth! It was love at first sight!
