Arrival Story: We had this other dog, but he started to kill our cats and I was worried that he would knock my grandma(who the dogs live with-but I visit and take care of the dogs everyday because I pretty much live right next to her house) down. SO...this nice man wanted to trade our dog for a puppy from his purebred Mini Aussie's litter. This is a win-win situation because now we have a smaller, easier to handle dog and our past dog has a MUCH better home where he can live with a bunch of dogs, run around and hunt for fun.
Bio: He is the runt of the litter(even though he is a big boy). He is sooo fluffy and sweet. He has pretty much no tail at all,he wags his whole body; it is adorable,I just hate that they had to remove tails,it seems unecessary. Rex has hazel/blue/yellow eyes with brownish-red fur with some white it in and a cinnamon nose...it is adorable. Also, he can make a variety of noises from squeaks to grunts to howls.
Rex lives with my(I am a junior in high school) nana(grandma),but I pretty much live with nana half of the time(at least during the summer) because my parents work from 8-5 ,so I takes a lot of care of Rex. I still come over for about an hour or two during the school year.
Rex is growing like a weed. He is becoming more outgoing and he has gotten so much bigger since we first got him. I think he wants to be a Pit Bull...he seems to lovee them. I am beginning to believe that he is a purebred Australian Shepherd. Sure...his mom,Dixie, was small, but his dad,Sarge, was HUGE. Rex already weighs 50 pounds. He needs work on people aggression. He is a GREAT guard dog though...I think he gets it from his big daddy.

The Last Forum I Posted In: Say something nice about the pup before you!
The other day this group of kids(probably 5-9 years old) wanted to see me and Pip, so mom said they could pet us through the fence. Well I went CRAZY! I was barking/growling like an attack dog and the kids were screaming at me and banging on the "Beware of Dog" sign( mom just put the sign up to scare away intruders). Mom says that was pretty stupid...banging on the sign and screaming because that made me go crazy. I actually nipped the craziest little girl on the hand, but it didn't do anything thank goodness. I like people and little kids..usually..but not crazy kids who don't know how to act right. Mom was so surprised though. I had a wild look in my eye like a rabid pit bull that hasn't been fed in weeks. We need work more with kids I think...
ALSO...the variety talent show is coming up at mom's church in a month or so, so we are trying to come up with a good dog act that would be really cool, but is not too hard to train for, since I am still young.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Have a good fall!
Well,me and mom dropped by the Petsmart Howl-O-Ween party before dog training tonight and they had microchipping for a good price. Mom was so worried that I would scream and yelp, but I needed it done. The NEEDLE was HUGE and I would not stay still, so mom had to hold me and she gave me some pepperoni...yummm. So I got that taken care of and it just took a second. Mom didn't even know they had given me the shot. It was quick and I barely even felt it, so that went well. I got to meet a lot of goofy little dogs wearing costumes at Petsmart. Thank goodness mom did not make me wear one. How humiliating would that be for a MALE MANLY Aussie to wear a TUTU or a BUMBLE BEE outfit. I don't think so mom. :] After all of that, I had dog training, which I fail at. Everybody says I am doing better though. Mom told me I must have been terrible at the beginning of dog training. The other dogs make me(and mom) look like dummy. That's about it for now. I am dog tired! I am going to bed in my comfy crate...night pups!
....oh....have a safe and happy Halloween!
Dog training was last night. It went pretty well. I went through the doggie tunnel and the balance beam was a little harder, but I did it. Training went pretty well also. The trainer said I was the best puppy at COME! I was straining so hard to get to mom, she kept calling me and the trainer had to hold me back and finally she let go and I ran and jumped as high and mom's head and banged into her chest. They said I was good at come. Later...my evil twin, Tex came out. We were just walking along, doing the trainer's commands-mom had already taken me to use the bathroom-and I left a lovely BIG present on the concrete. Mom was petrified. She calmly walked to her nana and begged her to pick it up(mom is such a baby) and after much begging, Nana did the big duty-with gloves/bags of course- and mom sprayed it with deodorizer(WOW good job mom...). That was a little...a lot...embarrasing. This other dog kept bugging me, so I got an attitude with him and I got in trouble. We made up later though. Other than that, the class was pretty good.
Today I was a good guard dog and barked at some scary looking passerbys. I mean I had the deep bark and everything. It was great. I'm doing good though, just thought I'd update, because I don't think this would fit on my twitter updates.
