Arrival Story: We had this other dog, but he started to kill our cats and I was worried that he would knock my grandma(who the dogs live with-but I visit and take care of the dogs everyday because I pretty much live right next to her house) down. SO...this nice man wanted to trade our dog for a puppy from his purebred Mini Aussie's litter. This is a win-win situation because now we have a smaller, easier to handle dog and our past dog has a MUCH better home where he can live with a bunch of dogs, run around and hunt for fun.
Bio: He is the runt of the litter(even though he is a big boy). He is sooo fluffy and sweet. He has pretty much no tail at all,he wags his whole body; it is adorable,I just hate that they had to remove tails,it seems unecessary. Rex has hazel/blue/yellow eyes with brownish-red fur with some white it in and a cinnamon nose...it is adorable. Also, he can make a variety of noises from squeaks to grunts to howls.
Rex lives with my(I am a junior in high school) nana(grandma),but I pretty much live with nana half of the time(at least during the summer) because my parents work from 8-5 ,so I take a lot of care of Rex. I still come over for about an hour or two during the school year.
Rex is growing like a weed. He is becoming more outgoing and he has gotten so much bigger since we first got him. I think he wants to be a Pit Bull...he seems to lovee them. I am beginning to believe that he is a purebred Australian Shepherd. Sure...his mom,Dixie, was small, but his dad,Sarge, was HUGE. Rex already weighs 50 pounds. He needs work on people aggression. He is a GREAT guard dog though...I think he gets it from his big daddy.
Well...mom went to Dallas over the weekend. Me and Pip were at the house with Nana, as usual. Mom just couldn't see us for three days. Nana is sick, so all she did was feed us at night. WELL when Nana was running an errand, me and Pip escaped from the yard(mom later learned it was because the ground was soft, so we could push the gate open just big enough for us to fit through). While she was gone, I ran to the other street and what dog would be outside IN THE YARD, UNCHAINED than the neighbor's pit bull that lives behind us. I ALWAYS fight through the fence with him, but now we were both free, and I admit that I did start most of the fights through the fence. We fought VICIOUSLY. AMAZINGLY I...little me...beat up a pit bull. The owners were MAD. Both me and the pit bull came out with a few minor cuts, hard to believe. The owners called the police...not animal control. When the officer came out...I CHASED HIM into his patrol car! My goal was to attack. He just barely escaped my jaws and claws. When Nana got home, me and Pip were laying peacefully in the yard by the gate. Nana let us back in, not knowing what had happened. She did notice that I was limping slightly. Later, an animal control officer came by. He told Nana everything that had happened. She was shocked. As Nana and the officer stood by the gate, talking, I just viciously attack the fence. I jumped up and down as high as I could, barking and growling. The officer said if I was to bite anybody, I would be gone and Nana would have to pay a lot of money. This is terrible. We don't know what to do. Training did not work. Mom is seriously sending applications to the Dog Whisperer and It's Me or the Dog. We have got to do something. I am getting a little...A LOT out of control.
Mom still can't believe that it has been one year since I was an adorable little puppy. This is crazy! I'm so big now. The first year was great and I hope to have a TON more. Hopefully mom will take me to Petsmart today, so we can do something fun together. WOW. Still can't believe how much I have changed. Mom has never adopted such a tiny baby as I was-now to see me all grown up is different. Maybe I can get some new 1 YEAR OLD pictures on here soon.
Mmmm...I hope mom gets me a ginormous bone for my birthday!
Hope everybody else is having a good day!
Can't believe it...I am already almost ONE YEAR OLD! That's crazy. I think mom still misses the cute baby me. Sorry we haven't been able to get on much lately. Mom checks facebook after school and then tries to play with us more instead of computer time. I'm doing fine and I am getting BIG. Goodness, I am a big, strong dog now. The meter man is scared to come in the yard. haha. Nothing much is going on though, I am going to have to get...THE FIX soon. Not looking forward to that. Other than that, life is good. It is COLD too, but now it is warming up. Maybe mom can take me and Pip for more walks now. On February 11 and 12, it snowed! I had never seen snow before. That was new and cool. Mom beat me in a snowball fight, but how could I win?! I don't have thumbs! Now it is warmer. I like it more. I need a bath, though. Got to meet mom's boyfriend. I gave him a good barking. He told mom he would punch me in the face if I tried to bite him, but mom told him off after that. She didn't like that one bit. Okay...now that's all that's going on with me. Guess I'll update later when I am able too.
