Tomorrow is a BIG Day!!

Tomorrow I go back to the U of Penn for my follow-up appointment. It's been approximately 7 1/2 weeks since my surgery. Mommy and Daddy are going with me tomorrow. I am sooo excited. I hope the doctor tells mommy and daddy that they can relax a lil' bit. Daddy told me that if the doctor says it's okay, then we can go up to our other house in the mountains the next weekend he is off. I hope they don't forget to ask. Mommy follows me around when I go out in the backyard. Last year, I "accidentally" fell in the swimming pool. Daddy opened the pool last week and mommy thinks I am going to fall in again. She is worried about the pacemaker if I fall in the pool. I think she is worried that she would have to jump in after me again!! BOL!! She didn't think I could swim and when I fell in...she came in after me. We were soaked!! If the doctor says its okay for me to get wet...well... I kinda hope Mommy or Daddy would still jump in anyway. So that's about it for now. Keep your paws crossed for me. I will write an update after my BIG appointment :)

1. What color is your collar?

I am not allowed to wear a collar since I had my pacemaker put in. I had a pink and blue collar that said OBX in bones before my surgery.

2. What kind of food do you eat?

I eat Purina One with jerky treats in it...and whatever mommy and daddy are eating BOL!!

3. What are your favorite treats?

I love chews and jerky strips.

4. Do you have a Best Bud??

My brother Cleatus is my best bud.

5. Do you get Table Scraps?

All the time. There not scraps though, I basically get a plate.

6. What is your favorite toy?

My lamby and Rochelle the rabbit.

12/27/95

8. How many times a day do you get to eat?

I eat dinner at 4 pm and I eat my other dinner when mommy and daddy decide to eat.

Pink!!

The Goose is Loose

Well...the weather started to break and this past weekend I did A LOT of sun bathing...I think I actually fell asleep for awhile. Daddy said that this weekend is going to be even nicer, but he doesn't want me outside for too long. I guess when I see my doctor in a week and a half he will tell Daddy to chill out and let me be a goose.

Just over five weeks now....

Well, this if my first diary entry. I wanted to write sooner but have been busy being spoiled by mommy and daddy :)

Five weeks ago I underwent surgery and had a pacemaker implanted. My recovery is going well. My hair is growing in so my "goose" flesh isn't showing anymore and you can barely see my scar-which is perfect for sunbathing :) Mommy and Daddy are very protective of me now...which is kind of fun because Cleatus would always get all the attention in the past.

The doctor said that I can no longer wear collars, which is FINE by me. Mommy picked up a nice pink harness and leash and I've been rocking that when I go for walks ever since they brought me home from the hospital, March 12th.

Mommy and Daddy don't let me run around like a "jack rabbit" anymore because they are trying their best to keep me calm until my next follow-up appointment on May 1st.

I was having some problems for a few months prior to my surgery. My doctor told my parents in November that I may have a heartblock, but did not recommend a pacemaker due to my age...how rude!! Unfortunately, my doctor told mommy and daddy in December that I was all better and that I didn't have a heartblock. That just was not the case and on March 11, 2009 I could only stand for a few minutes at a time...before I would collapse. Daddy took me and my little brother to the doctor and mommy left work. The doctor said that I had to go to the ER at the University of Pennsylvania. Mommy, Daddy, Cleatus and I drove over immediately. Mommy said that while at the hospital, I continued to have episodes of collapse and my cardiologist, the hunky Dr. Arndt, recommended a pacemaker. He told mommy and daddy that if I didn't get the surgery, I would pass. Mommy, Daddy and Cleatus came into the back to give me kisses and Dr. Arndt took me into surgery. I don't remember the surgery. I do remember the next day when mommy and daddy came to pick me up, Dr. Arndt told me that I did a great job and laid a big kiss on my face...oxoxox....I had a follow up appointment approx. 10 days after my surgery and my next one is May 1st. Mommy and Daddy took pictures of my neck, to keep an eye on my scar and the healing process. I will ask mommy if she can put some on my site just in case one of my pals needs to have the same procedure, they can show their mom and dad the pictures so they will have an idea of what to expect.
