Came home today from my furst backpackin' and campin' trip. Boy did I have a grand time!
We started the hike with me on leash. But that was only at the beginning then I got let off leash. Pretty much all the doggies hikin' out there were off leash, so it wasn't just me breakin' the rules! There was lotsa doggies and only one that I ran into that was a bit rude and aggressive.
Dadders and My Boy had real big backpacks on their backs and I had my pack on too. Ours packs made it challengin' sumptimes to get thru brush or walk under fallen logs n' stuff. But fur the most part mine didn't slow me down much. I was my normal quick, little self!
Lunch was pretty good as My Boy balanced his cheeze and crackers on a rock. My Boy says a smurf came out and pushed his fudz over. Well, thank you, smurf, because I gotta eat those cheeze and crackers after they fell on the ground. Yums!
We hiked to a camp area and decided to make camp. We all gotta take our packs off and rest and relax a bit. Unfortunately, no smurfs came around to mess with My Boy's fudz at dinner so I just had the kibble that was in my pack fur this meal.
Pretty soon nighttime came and I was wonderin' where is we gunna sleep. We slept in a tent, which is a very flimsy sorta house. This was very strange fur me. I has never slept outside befure.
Next day we hiked to a place with hot springs. It was about 3 miles away from our camp. The guys left their big packs behind and just brought smaller day packs fur this excursion.
We all went into the hot springs, even me, but, wellwoof, it was just too hot fur a pup. So I opted to stay outta there. Since it was a little smelly, too, My Boy decided to rinse off in a nearby river afterwards. The river water was cold but I joined him in there. Cold water is fine by me!
We spent anofur night sleepin' in the tent, then hiked back to the truck at the parkin' lot. We found our truck had a flat tire! This delayed us a bit, but we got the tire changed and made it on back home. Now we are all weary wanderers and enjoyin' sleepin' in our beds and in our house. Good night!
