Sightedness!February 10th 2012 9:23 pm[ Leave A Comment | 11 people already have ] Wellwoof, we had an assignment from the last flyball class. We is supposta report back if I am right or left sighted! We never noticed or thought about this befure. But I do seem to turn to my left most times when I pick up the ball. Ball in the middle of the hallway, I turn left. Ball to the left side of the hallway, I turn left. Ball to the right side of the hallway, I sumptimes turn left, I sumptimes turn right. Hmm, think I am left sighted!
Leave A Comment | 11 people already have Hmm, what if you are ambi-sighted, like you use both left and right? Possible, Tux! We are gunna continue to observe. Does it really matter which you are in flyball? Weird!! I never even thought of that! I hope you are right sighted because things are geared up for the right handed humans so I'm going to assume that right eyed dogs have the advantage. LOL My Mommy's parents would not let their kids use their left hands. Many years ago. Mommy's grandmother could use either hand, and the teachers would not allow her to use the left one...of course, you know the humans can be silly. We dogs are so much more tolerant. Wellwoof, there is not supposta be any advantage to bein' left or right sighted. They just wanta know which way I tend to turn to train fur the box turn. I'm supposta do a "swimmer's" turn once we start workin' on the box retrieves and we want to go the way most natural to me. How furry interesting this is....didn't know that it would be signifigant...but yes, I guess it is! Hope you do well, whatevfur paw-sightedness you are... Woofs! huh???I would think you might be left sighted Going to what my Boys now !! never really thought about it... There shouldnt be an advantage,, it will aid the handler though to decide which is easiest and therefore fastest for the dog to turn. No difference.. just easing the turn... makes sense ! Hi MrJack, Petey and Flicka! "easiest and therefore fastest for the dog to turn" perfectly barked, Flicka! Sophie Claire scratches her head - Left-sighted or right-sighted? |
