Mom has started taking me to the dog park. She thinks I'm a little tennis ball obsessed and wants me to broaden my horizons. I am pretty well socialized and am fine with other dogs and people but I really just prefer for someone to throw the ball for me. If I can find a sucker for that then I can ignore the other dogs and just do my fetching thing.

Problem is mom won't throw the ball for me at the dog park!! She thinks the dog park is for playing with other dogs! Geesh, WHAT am I going to do with that woman! Each time we've gone, though, I've been able to find some accomodating dude to chuck or throw the ball for me. BOL!

Mom makes a point of saying quite obviously when we enter, "Pepper, go play with the other dogs. We can play fetch anytime." She can't blame the guy who is trying to throw the ball for his own dog and I join in on the game. But yesterday there was a guy whose own dog had NO interest in balls or fetching. I brought the ball to him and looked at him with my best puppy dog eyes and ... VIOLA new ball throwing minion for me!

Pepper, you need to tell your mommy that it's a dog park, not a mom park! My mommy used to try to tell me what to do in MY park, but now she just says go and have fun!! Fun for me is sniffing. I'm a spaniel, BOL!

Hi Hershey, THANKS for being on MY side!! Mom's pretty stubborn, though. She thinks since I already get fetching sessions every morning by her and every evening by dad, then the couple of times a week we go to the dog park I could give it a break. She never tells the people who choose to throw the ball for me to stop, though. I've got to hand that to her.

Hoomans can be hard to train, but with a little patience and consistency, you'll have your mommy behaving correctly at the dog park in no time! Before you know it, she'll be throwing the ball fur you herself, BOL!

Yes, let's hope this foolishness ends soon! She will kind of kick the ball for me if I bring it to her when her mind is distracted (I have great mind control powers when it come to tennis ball fetching) Alas, for now I think she's going to continue let the nice, young men, who are so drawn to my fetching fantasticness(humble aren't I?) throw the ball for me.

She says if she knew us retrievers were such man magnets she would have gotten one in her younger years. BOL!
