Hello, my name is “Sasha”, and I am new to Dogster.

Mom & dad bought me at a pet store in March, 2006 (I was just 8 weeks old).

For mom, it was love at first sight. When she saw me, I was asleep on my water dish in my kennel. She said that when I opened my big, blue eyes, I stole her heart.

Later that same day, mom & dad came to take me home. As mom picked me up & held me, she noticed a gurgling sound in my chest. With a quick trip to the vet, it was discovered that I had pneumonia in my right lung.

I spent the next few days on an I.V. and getting lots of attention in the pet hospital. Mom & dad weren’t sure if I would make it or not. By the end of the week, the vet on duty telephoned mom & dad to ask if they would like to take their new puppy home, as I had just chewed through my I.V. catheter (I was definitely beginning to “feel my oats”).

Who knew the experience of chewing through my catheter was a precursor to my entire outlook on life? Later on, when the time came to see my doctor for spaying, the doctor told mom I would feel drowsy after my surgery for most of the afternoon. (But by mid-day, I was already up and running around my back yard as if nothing had happened.)

Today, I am a happy (and robust) girl with lots of energy and love to give. I sleep near (and sometimes with) my humans at night, and like to go for car rides, and long walks along the beach with them.

In the summer time, I have my very own wading pool and, after a good run, I like to lay in it and “blow bubbles” under the water, as many huskies do. When I want to go for a walk, I will bring my leash or one my humans’ walking shoes to them (I’m a pretty smart girl.)

P.S. We had particularly heavy snowfall this winter, and I LOVED IT!!! (More Pictures Coming Soon!)
