Arrival Story: I first met Spunky when I was a volunteer at an adoption fair in Ashland, WI. Spunky was the puppy I had picked to show off in hopes that he would get adopted. He was probably around 8 months of age and had come to the pound with his mother when he was very young. I picked him because he was very cute and loving and jumped up on the cage to see me when I went over to him. He was also covered in mud but it didn't matter because his personality was amazing. Well, he stole my heart and was so gentle with the pet ferret I had also brought along, that I put in an application for him that very day. While waiting to see if my application would get accepted, I visited him every day and he got to come home with me on November 10th, 2004.

Bio: Spunky has been with me almost every day since he came into my life. There was a period of several months where an ex took him but we were obviously meant to be together because he came back to me. Spunky is always getting so much attention from everyone because he is such a beautiful and lovable dog. He isn't adverse to playing dress-up, in fact he quite likes it and will prance around showing off his outfits on special occasions. He is also quite the diva and loves posing for photographs which is great for an aspiring pet photographer such as myself. He also passed his Canine Good Citizen test and we hope to one day complete his training so that he can become a certified therapy dog. He is also the mascot for ILoveRescueAnimals.org, a website dedicated to celebrating rescue animals, supporting shelters and rescues, and advocating for spaying and neutering pets. In this role he will continue making the lives of everyone who know him brighter with each and every tongue-lolling smile!
