Arrival Story:
It had been about a year since we sadly had to re-home our loved beagle/lab mix Banyan who we had since he was a puppy. We loved Bany but he was just not happy and had started to become a bit agressive with the family and Louie. We thought we where fine with one dog, but had always had multiple dogs and as time went on Louie seemed to be a it alone. So in late winter and early spring on 2009 we started talking about getting a new dog, my husband wanted a Great Dan, one of my daughters wanted another Vizla (Teva was A vizla) and my other daughter and I wanted a pug. I had a pug growing up named Tong and loved him to death, and my daughters thought pugs where the cutest and funniest things ever. After I convinced my husband a pug would work better for us then a great dane, because it would be to hard to control 2large dogs & Lou gets along better with small dogs, I started searching.Of course I first looked at shelters, and even looked at several pug rescues in the area but nothing clicked so after finding nothing at shelters, I started looking at breeders. After a long search I found the perfect breeder, she breeds very healthy and happy pugs and puts her everything into the breed. So we started planning, it was spring break and we had already planned a week trip to Florida. So after our FL trip we came home for one day and then drove to Iowa on March 20th 2009 to go get Lacey. We brought her to our home on 3/22/09, and by then she had our hearts. We where afraid how Lou was going to react but she is in madly in love with Louie and he loves her also.He somtimes gets annoyed with her but he is a good boy and is even gentle when they play together. Now we have our king & queen!! (Lou's full name is King Louie & her's is Queen Anne's Lace).

Bio:
Lacey is such a joy. When we first brought her home all she wanted to do was clime in my lap and snuggle, she still does but now her puppy side is truly showing. Lace loves to play and run around, and Louie is her favorite toy. She will jump on him and chew on his cheeks and also she loves to give him kisses. Even though she plays with everything she is smart and leaves our giant kitties (Oob & Rocko) alone. Oh and she is also part pig & baked potatoe. She is always snorting and when she gets really excited she snorts louder. As for the potatoe part, my daughter really wanted to name her that because she looks just like a baked patotoe and probably weighs as much as one! LOL. But thats ok she is our little tater. ________________________________ Well it has been a few months since Lacey has joined the family and she still our little sweet heart but her whole "I love to lay in your lap" faze didn't last very long when her true puppy came out when teething, darting around like a crazed pug and constantly making us laugh. Her teething wasn't bad, but the potty training did take a while because she isn't the smartes tater in the bunch. We look forawrd to spending many more years with this great girl....

Down at da lake...

Well I have lived wif my furmily for a couple of months now and boy do I like it here! My mama, my daddy, my brudder the very handsome Louie (I lubs him!) da human sister Ellie & Stella and even the cats Rocky & Oob! I am a big girl now and even recently went under a growth spirt so I am not a itty bitty tater any more! I also finally get the hang of this potty training thing and I passed my obedience class with flyng colors! Wooh! I have really become attachted to my peeps and hate it when they leave me. And less then a month ago they left the cats, Lou and me when they went on cruise for ten days!! I stayed down at abby's house who is our neighbor, and takes care of us furs. And then about a week after that went to this magical place called the "lake house" for a weekend! Louie is always blabbering about the lake called "Ozark" and of course right as he got into the backyard he made a big splash for the water. I on the other hand didn't get dat much freedom. Mommy told me how us pugs are bad swimmers with our stubby little legs, chubby bodies and smooshed in faces. But she did buy me two life jackets! But I never got in the water that weekend.

But it is going to be about 2 weeks now that we have been at the lake (after the last lake vivist we stayed home for a bit then came back) and once and a while when the lake is very calm the peeps zip up the life jacket and I get to do a little pug paddle! And the fun gets even better because on Thursday afternoon Abby (the pet sitter/neighbor/friend) and her mom & sister (who is really close to the human sisters) are coming down for the weekend!Louie is super excited because he has the biggest crush on Abby!! And either tomorrow or thursday daddy is going back to the house for a bit and on Saturday afternoon he is coming back but is bringing Abby's twin bro & little bro (their daddy can't come) and they are all staying till Sunday afternoon!! Woohoo!

The peeps also just got a new boat, well new to us. The pontoooooon (old boat) was getting slower & slower and it was a racoon attraction. When they left racoons decided to have make their little party cove in our boat!!But it doesn't fit in our dock well so we can only have it by our house on week days when it calm and the rest of the time in a little "boat parking lot" so Lou & me don't get to go boat riding as much.

Well just wanted to update you all!!
Snorts & snuggles
