Arrival Story:
We went to the animal control pound looking for kittens for our children for Christmas. When I walked in, I was saddened by how many dogs were there. Then I hear the littlest whimper-- I look down and there is Sandy and her sister, cute as can be, with their little paws up against the gate. I bent down and Sandy looked in my eyes-- she licked my finger and I just knew I had to have her! My husband said "no dogs", and we left. But by the time we got home, he said "Let's go back and get her". So we did! I felt terrible for her sister, but we just couldn't adopt both. I was told dogs at this facility are only given 5- 7 days to live. Thankfully, we ended up finding someone that my husband works with to adopt Sandy's sister. There are so many dogs/pups that are on a limited timeline at pounds who would love a forever home. If you're considering a new pet, please check it out before deciding to purchase one elsewhere. Petfinder.com is a great resource, but also go down in person-- they often have so many pets that they can't keep the web updated.

Bio:
Accroding to Animal Control, a litter of pups was dropped off in a box in front of thier doors before they opened one morning which is where Sandy came from. We found out she's an American Dingo, otherwise known as the Carolina Dog. She was born sometime in mid-October 2004. She did have worms and fleas when we first brought her home, which took about a month to get rid of completely. Otherwise, she's been completely healthy. Sandy is very playful! She can be hyper and likes lots of attention. She's great with my children. She's very much a "pack dog"-- she just wants to be one of us. She is very protective of our family. We just love her to pieces.

Wow! It's been a long time since I've visited dogster. I've been sad lately because Dad is away training. I lounge around the house most days until about 2:30 when mom gets home from work and the kids come home from school. So, I'm full of energy when they do! Dad really gets my energy out when he's home, but since he isn't, mom and the kids have been trying extra hard to take me on extra walks and playing with me in the yard. I LOVE jumping on the trampoline with Zachary. It's still not the same as playing with Dad, though! He really tires me out and mom can't figure out what to do with all of my extra energy. We're both trying, though. But I really miss him. I've been sneaking into Jamie's room at night when she's sleeping. I love laying at the foot of her bed because she rubs me with her feet :)

It's getting warmer out now and I love the water, so mom's going to buy me my very own kiddie pool! I'm excited about that. She's hoping that will prevent me from digging around the big pool.

Happy Birthday to me! I had the best birthday ever! I got all of the attenion and love (I guess that's not much different than most days). Mom bought me some new treats, and Grammy even sent me some bones and toys all the way from New York! I am now 2 years old, and growing. Mommy can't believe how much I've changed since they first brought me home. I've gotten so big, dont' you think?

My two friends Rocky and Nicky just turned 2 too. Great, huh? Its good to have friend your age so you dont feel too young or too old .
