Arrival Story:
Dessie showed up on my boyfriend's front porch November 1st, 2007. She had a horrible gash on her back leg and could hardly walk. We took her to the vet and had her all fixed up. The vet informed us that it 1: that she was a "tad over a year" old, 2: it looks as though she had been force-bred but did not come to term and 3: that the gash may have been inflicted by a person rather than by accident. I still had hope that maybe her injuries were misread and I looked for an owner anyways. I will say that I had made the decision that if the owner did seem to be abusive than I would not return her. We looked and looked for weeks and only found one person. When Dessie saw her she got back into my car and tried to crawl into my boyfriend's mother's lap. The lady just said "that's not my dog" and walked away.
I've had her ever since!

We live in the Murfreesboro, TN area but frequently commute to see her paternal grandparents (boyfriend's mom and stepdad) in Tullahoma, TN and her maternal grandparents (my parents) in Nashville, TN
