Arrival Story:
Our family planned to adopt a beautiful, 4 year old, golden retriever named Wilma. She was introduced to us via Southpaws Express, a rescue dedicated to bringing dogs from seriously overpopulated high-kill shelters in Louisiana to the Northeast. Wilma came in as a stray and unknowingly to anyone at the shelter gave them nine puppies. All were to be euthanized but Southpaws Express stepped in and saved Wilma and her babies. I fell in love with her and her story almost immediately and knew she had to be a part of our family. She was placed in foster care with her puppies for a couple of months while she nursed her puppies. She had to go back to the shelter for Heart worm treatments and her spay then in three short weeks she would be on her way home to our family. A mistake at the shelter put her in the wrong kennel and a family came by and adopted my sweet Wilma. Southpaws Express did everything they could to try and get her back but the family knew they had a great dog and wouldn't budge. One of Wilma's puppies was offered to us and we decided we would honer her by raising her son. We named him Thibodeaux, but call him T-Beaux. He is an amazing pup that has brought so much joy and wonder into our lives. We are so lucky to have him!

Thibodeaux = Tib -a-doh
and his common shortended version T-Beaux = T-bow

Jambalaya (On The Bayou) - John Fogerty

Goodbye, joe, me gotta go, me oh my oh.
Me gotta go, pole the pirogue down the bayou.
My yvonne, sweetest one, me oh my oh.
Son of a gun, gonna have big fun on the bayou.

Chorus:
Jambalaya and a crawfish pie and fillet gumbo
’cause tonight I’m gonna see my ma cher amio.
Pick guitar, fill fruit jar and be gayo,
Son of a gun, gonna have big fun on the bayou.

Thibodeaux, fontaineaux, the place is buzzin’,
Kinfolk come to see yvonne by the dozen.
Dress in style, go hog wild, and be gayo.
Son of a gun, gonna have big fun on the bayou.

Chorus:
Oh, guitar!

Chorus

Oh, lord!
Hang tight, ooh lord!
Ah, take it out.
He’s comin’, ah!
