McDuff is very well mannered and polite - he knows sit, stay, lay down, leave it and come. He knows how to shake paws and has a special look that will get him just about anything!
McDuff was rescued by my parents from a "breeder" who needed to "get rid of him" because his ears were bent!! (hmmm...don't all westie puppies have bent ears??) McDuff and I bonded right away, he came to live with me and we have been togther ever since; almost 10 years! McDuff is an amazing little dog, I love him so much!!

Today I had to go to the vets. I saw Dr. Walker, she is an internal medicine specialist. She did an ultrasound on my belly. My mom shaved my belly last night (she said she wanted to shave it because she was worried that if they did it at the vet's they would shave too much off!) Dr. Walker was very nice. First I had to lay on my left side on a nice padded table. The doctor put a probe on my belly and looked at all my organs. Then I had to go onto my right side and she did the same thing over there. The table was so comfortable and since my mom was there I knew it was safe; I fell asleep! After the doctor looked at everything she told my mom that my organs looked normal and I was healthy! She could see the area on my Pancreas that had become inflammed and made me sick but said it was healing.
My mom has been very, very careful with what she is feeding me. She has me on a strict diet (yuk!) and I've lost 1/2 pound! If she's doesn't watch what I eat, I could get sick again.
After my appointment she took me to my favorite pet store and I got to pick out a new (mom approved!) treat!!
I'm glad I'm feeling better - I even chased my brother (Hemi the cat) today!

Today is the first day of Spring! Yeahhhh!
This was a tough week for me. I got really sick on Monday. Luckily it was my mom's day off from work and she noticed that something wasn't right. She is a Veterinary Technician and rushed me down to the animal hospital where she works. They took some xrays - that was okay. I didn't like it when they drew my blood and put in the IV Catheter; that kind of hurt. My mom gave me lots of hugs and kisses so it wouldn't be so bad for me. I was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis. My mom brought me home with medicine and a bag of IV Fluids that she had to keep me on all night. I got to go to work with her all week - except I had to stay in a cage with the fluids running to help me feel better. I'm doing much better now! I know my mom was worried about me because she cried a lot.
She had to take another blood sample to make sure I was getting better - and I am! I have to get an ultrasound done on my belly next week. When the doctor looked at my xrays, she noticed that my liver is slightly enlarged so they just want to check to make sure everything is okay.
My mom said she is going to take me for a ride and a short walk later today - those are my favorite things! Maybe I will see a squirrel on my walk!!!
