Arrival Story:
Buster was an owner surrender to Monterey SPCA (heaven knows why) who was picked up from the shelter by Bay Area Boxer Rescue, and then entrusted to us in response to our request for a mellow sweet male boxer. We heard that the SPCA was concerned he was too old to be adoptable. HA! Senior dogs RULE!

Bio:
Buster has several dog cousins including his favorites Hot Rod Lincoln and Bogie (see photo of the 3 of them at the beach!). Bogie came from the Monterey SPCA, too. Buster was preceded by Stella (white rescued boxer) and Otisse (fawn rescued boxer) - we will never forget them. Buster misses his cousin Deuce, too (there's a picture in my photo book). Buster left this earth on June 4, 2008. He was the sweetest thing, and will always be in our hearts. We miss him very much.

hello friends of Buster -

I am very sad to report that yesterday, June 4, we put Buster to sleep. He had developed some new medical problems since the beginning of the year, and in the last few weeks he had gotten to the point that his quality of life was pretty much gone. We made the hard decision to let him go peacefully, knowing how much we loved him.

Thanks to all his Dogster friends for your notes and gifts over the years. I will try to write notes to his special friends when I can - for now it is hard. I miss him so very much. I wish every human would enjoy having such a loving dog in their life - how lucky Mark and I have been to have over 6 years with this boy.

And remember: a middle-aged rescued dog can fill you life with joy. Buster did.

missing him so much,

Debbie

A week with my cousins

Yo Dogsters!

Hot Rod and Bogie are here for the week while their parents are in Hawaii. Guess what new game we discovered - eat the cat poop! Yep. We were out in the back yard Sunday and discovered some nuggets. My mom says maybe Hot Rod II the kitty came over and left them. Anyway mom has been desperately searching the yard for any remainders because she was so grossed out at us. We did it again that night in the middle of the night when we went out to "go." She was yelling at us and I'm sure the neighbors thought we had been up to no good.

There are truly some things that I would not be interested in at all when by myself, but when my cousins are here I get really into it. Like cat poop hunting. Also, like barking at the mail man. Usually I could care less, but the pack thing gets going and there you have it.

Hot Rod is quite the alpha. I let him be it because I could care less. Today when my mom got home from work Hot Rod yelled at her (BARK! BARK! BARK!) until he could get her into the kitchen to get our dinner. Good job, cuz.
