Arrival Story:
My husband and I found Petey at a wonderful chihuahua breeder about two hours away from our house. She had three puppies for sale, two little boys and a little girl. We had our heart set on a little boy because we already had a little girl. I liked Petey's brother a little better because he seemed friendlier and Petey walked around us suspiciously. My husband was smitten at first sight, however, and the breeder thought Petey would be a better match for us. She later told me that Petey had one of the best personalities that she had ever produced (He is no longer afraid of strangers). Petey was considered as a show prospect early on, however, his ears never really came up and one of his testicles was slow in dropping. He also ended up being 12lbs! (His parents were both 5lbs) We are so happy that he wasn't a show dog, though, because we would never have had the opportunity to own him. He is the best dog I ever owned. He is sweet, calm, and always ready for an adventure.
