Arrival Story:
Promise is a Katrina survivor. He was saved after the big storm in Louisiana and was in real bad shape. He had a high fever and was very ill. He couldn't stand up and keep his balance. We suspect he probably received debris on his head and that affected his balance. His back is completely rounded up and he has some arthritis. It took about one year for him to get back to be able to walk without falling, with treatment and TLC.

Bio:
Promise is a very smart boy and has the cutest face. He loves to be loved on. Being 15 years young, he sleeps a lot but regularly comes to us during the day to be picked up and cuddled. His chances of being adopted are pretty much passed, but it doesn't matter, he has home with us.

I joined Pepper and the other tonight...

When I got up this morning, I was fine, or so it seemed. I ate well, barked, went outside and did everything as usual. Mom was busy with adoptions again today and I stuck around with my siblings greetings the adopters.

Suddenly, I started to get really sick and I was throwing up blood. My hu-sis took me to the emergency clinic and the dogter told her my temperature was 99 and this really didn't look good. After testing and exam, she was told I most probably had generalized cancer.

Tonight, I went to the Bridge and joined Pepper Schnoodle and all my angel siblings. Mom and my hu-sis are crying but I will be looking for them and waiting until they join us at the Bridge.
