Arrival Story: I was at Petsmart with a friend and it just happened to be adoption day. While she was shopping, I went to spend time with the dogs that were there. I was greeted by a very handsome and friendly shorthair who promptly sat in my lap and snuggled in. It was love at first sight. I went home and told my boyfriend that I had found our dog. We got back to the store just in time. Someone else was just about to adopt him when we arrived. The man from the recue assoc. said that because I had been there earlier, we had "dibs" on him. Amazingly, Pippin seemed to know he was home the second we turned on to our street. He jumped up and started wagging his tail as we pulled into our driveway.

Bio: Pippin was found wandering in the Colorado Rockies, near Pikes Peak. He has been a loving and loyal member of our family since 1998. He has been our son's best friend since the day Nick was born. He has had some health issues; including a hip replacement and eventual amputation of that leg about four years ago and he is a cancer survivor. However, he has never lost his amazing can-do spirit and is still the bane of every squirrel and cat in the area and loves to run with his doggy sister Molly and all the other dogs in the neighborhood.
Pippin went to the Rainbow Bridge last Thursday. (8-13-09) It was very peaceful and gentle. We will miss him always. He was truly an angel and we are so grateful to have had him in our lives for so long.
