Woofs and Wags

Funnn!!!

My mommy is on spring break this week, and since Daddy is working double shifts everyday for South by Southwest, Mommy and Aunt Tara have been taking me and Winnie, and our cousins Koree and Maggee to the dog park for the past two days! Yesterday we went to a new park that we had never been to before and it wasn't the best idea Mommy ever had. I'm really good on my new prong collar, but Winnie still gets excited when you put him on leash, and between the two of us we were more than Mommy could handle. First she got me out of the car, and while she was trying to get Winston out I wrapped my leashed around her legs, then Winston jumped on her and we knocked her down on the ground. Then we licked her in her face because we love her and we didn't want her to be hurt, but she wasn't. She was just laughing and we were all rolling around on the ground for a minute. She didn't get mad because she thought it was funny, and the people who saw probably got a kick out of it.

Then she let us off of our leashes, but the park wasn't fenced in, even though it was really far away from all the roads. I listen really well when I'm by myself, but Winnie doesn't listen at all because he's never really been off leash before outside of our backyard, so as soon as she let us both off we took off, straight for the stream! When I was a little girl I accidentally fell backwards off of a pier into a lake, and I haven't really liked water since then. But Winston LOVES water, and he wanted to go for a swim, so I followed him because he's my big brother. As soon as I realized that I was standing in water i freaked out and ran away. Mommy was yelling at us the whole time, but we weren't really listening to her. We just ran and ran and ran, and finally Mom got scared because we were running wild, so she put us back on the leash and made us go home. It's ok though because we had fun.

Today Aunt Tara and Uncle Matt decided to take the girls to a place called Red Bud Isle. It's an island in the middle of Town Lake where doggies can go and run around. We had never been there before, and Mommy couldn't handle me and Winnie by herself in another new place, so she just took me because I mind better and I come when I'm called. I could tell she was scared at first because it's not fenced, but it's surrounded by water on 3 sides. There were TONS of dogs there, and I met a lot of other dobies. Koree likes to swim and fetch sticks in the water, but Maggee and I don't like water at all, so we ran around with the other puppies that were there. After Koree got tired of swimming, we all went to my other dog park that i used to go to when I first moved here. It's completely fenced and not that many people go there. I played fetch and chase with lots of puppies. There was another dobie there named Elwood. He was fawn and I liked him a lot. There was also a great dane puppy that was only 14 weeks old and already as big as me!
We stayed for a few hours until Mommy got sunburned, and then we came back home. I was really, really tired, but I had fun. Next time maybe Daddy can go and we can take Winnie too. I'm going to take a nap now.

Rain, Rain, Go Away...

It's been raining here for what seems like weeks, although I know it's only been a few days. Winnie and I like to run in the backyard during the daytime, but we've been cooped up in the house except for when Mommy lets us go out to potty. When she makes us come back in, she holds us down and wipes our toes with a rag to get off all of the fun stuff that we like to play in when it rains. I don't like it at ALL! She says that it's supposed to be warm and stop raining by tomorrow so MAYBE we can go to the dog park with Koree and Maggie (our cousins). She won't let us go if it's still too muddy because we LOVE to wrestle with each other and get mud all over us and then it gets all over the car.

I hope the weather gets pretty soon so we can go for a walk. I'm doing very well with my leash training. People look at me funny and shy away from me when I am wearing my prong collar. It kind of makes me sad because I really like to be petted, by anyone, I'm such a friendly girl. Oh well. I'm going to go take a nap now! Bye!!
