Arrival Story:
Bax was given to me by a friend in Mauritius (Africa). He is an ambassadog, who stayed with me overseas in my diplomatic career. I brought him home to the USA in 2006 when I retired. He is now a retired ambassadog.
Bio:
Bax lived on the beach in Mauritius. He used to like to race into the ocean and chase fish. The fish would leap in their thousands to escape. Tourists on the beach used to marvel at this. They asked what sort of dog he was, so I told them he was a Mauritian fish hound. Some tourists actually beleived that.

An island off the coast of Africa, east of Madagascar. Bax was given to me by a friend. I had had a german Shepherd dog in Tanzania that I had to give up when i left Tanzania. His name was Bax. I never forgot Bax and always talked about him. The fact that I had to give him up, hurt so bad that i had not intended to get another dog until after I retired. Mauritius was to be my last assignment prior to retirement. One day my friend invited me to lunch. At his home, unbeknownst by me, there was a litter of GSD pups. As i entered the home, a puppy was pushed into my arms and I was told "This is Bax." My friend had heard me speak of Bax I so much and knew how much i missed him that he gave me a new Bax. How sweet! And once i held that squirmy fur ball in my arms and got licked on the nose i was hooked! "Yes." I said " This is Bax."
