Arrival Story:
Well, I am sure that many people will be appalled at the way Danni came into my life. He was bought at a local pet store. Let me clearly state that I am an advocate of shelter adoptions, and have rescued 7 cats, and 2 dogs in the past. But here is Danni's story: My girlfriend had decided to get a small dog and fell in love with a bichpoo at the local pet shop. Well, she bought the pup (Princess) and made arrangements to go get her the following day after work. Since we work together, she invited me to go along. I was only checking out the puppies and kittens (They are ALL cute and lovable), I asked to hold the pup that was in the same pen as my girlfriend's new pup. As I held him he licked my face, and gave me boo-boo eyes, after playing with him for a little bit, I moved on to other pups. That first little furball cried and sat with sad brown eyes watching me. My friend tried to get me to buy him too. I said no, no no...I rescue, never buy.... but on the way back to work, she laid the guilt trip on me. My daughter is very closed off from people, and wont trust many people to come into her tight little circle. You really should get her a puppy to help her learn how to love and receive love, unconditionally." Again, I told her that I had 2 cats that we adopted from North Shore Animal League. She argued that "the cats were not what she needed but a pet that will depend on her, and be a constant hands on companion." Well, that sat like a brick in my stomach for the remainder of the day. At the end of our work day, I went with her to pick up her BichPoo (Princess), while the store clerk told us that her pen companion had been with her since they were born, my friend just gave me the coldest look, and said to me to think about my daughter..... I caved, and went home with that sweet lovable furball who I call Danni.

Bio:
Both Danni and his pen-mate Princess, were born only 6 days apart, inseparable and had come from the same breeder. After Princess had developed demodex mange around 6 months of age, we found out that it was very possible that our pups came from a puppy mill. To my despair, I was disgusted and outraged, but I still love my Danni very much. Princess lives downstairs and both Danni and Princess see each other almost every day. They are engaged, lol. And just to let everyone know I am still supporting my local shelter, and will continue to adopt/rescue in the future. Over the past year Danni has developed allergies to almost all his favorite foods, especially chicken, and he is having a hard time adapting to his new food.
