Arrival Story:
Sometime during the winter months of 2000 - 2001 someone decided to tie Harley to a fence post behind a vets office next to a very busy rd. Harley had somehow broke the fence post and was dragging it behind her as she started to raom in the freezing rain. My mother worked next door and because she lived the closest decided to rescue Harley before she got hit by a car. I was told before I even got home from school to see the dog that we were not keeping her but only providing shelter until someone claims the dog....Harley was a very beutiful dog but very thin. we took her to the vet and found out that she was only about 5 or 6 months old. After a few wks went by she started to gain weight and still no one had claimed her. we decided to start thinking of names. My father wanted a Harley Davidson motorcycle really bad so kind of as an inside joke we named her Harley because that was going to be the closest to a Harley my father would ever get...until he bought a real one....we came up with Ann because of Orphane Annie....We have had Harley Ann for about 10 years now, she's an amazing dog, extremly friendly but missed the crucial time of other dog socialization so she does better off on her own....
