Bio: If you didn't know, 25% of all animals in shelters are purebreds. Rusty is a victim of the pet over-population problem in this country. He is not only a purebred, but AKC registered as well! It didn't stop him from being surrendered to a shelter that euthanizes dogs and cats.
Rusty was in poor condition when we he was rescued. He was covered in fleas that caused him to chew off his fur on his hind end and created sores. He smelled so bad, that we had to drive with the windows down after picking him up.
Rusty's first stop was to the groomer for a bath and flea treatment. He next went to the vet to get neutered and vaccinated. Rusty is starting to blossom in his foster home where he is learning house manners.
He is a sweet little guy (16 pounds) who is looking for his very own person. We don't think he had much attention previously so he is still learning about leashes and other doggie type things. Rusty is only 4 years old with lots of unconditional love to give!
Rusty is one of our S.T.A.R. animals! S.T.A.R. animals provide financial support to other Animal Aid animals through their adoption fee.
