Dog park excitement!

Woohoo, we got to go to the off leash park again yesterday. All 5 of us went and there were alot of firsts that happened. Marley had to stay on leash because she is still kind of aggressive towards other dogs but she did well. Ayla, the baby of the family spent most of the day on leash but also did well adjusting to it. Me, Pearl and Jack always behave so we got to run run run! It was so much fun. Jack just loves the park. He actually smiles! Anyway, at this particular park, there is a long walk to the beach. All dogs end up there to play in the water and meet other dogs. Personally I don't care for the water much and neither do Pearl or Jack or Marley. There were alot of boxers there that day and several german shepherds too. We have discovered that Ayla likes all boxers but she is a bit apprehensive with any other breeds. It's funny how we can distinguish between breeds. Anyway, once we got to the beach, because the water had finally warmed up, there were alot of dogs taking the plunge. We all looked on and it all looked so fun but no way were we getting in.
Mom found a stick and knowing that Ayla likes to fetch, she tossed it in the water in front of Ayla. What do you know! Ayla went in after it (Ayla is the only one of us who isn't afraid of the water but had never swam before). Each time Mom tossed it in, it went a bit further out. At first Ayla would take her paw and paw at the stick til it went under so far she couldn't see it anymore. It would pop back up and she would paw at it again. She would finally grab it with her mouth and brought it back to Mom for her to toss it in again. A couple of times she tossed it out so far that Ayla had to swim to get back (Yay!). She even put her head all the way under the water to get the stick. Mom just squealed with delight.
After watching all of the dogs going into the water, I decided to take a turn. Something came over me and I just bolted for the water to chase that same stick. It was a bit far from the edge but i went for it. I couldn't quite get to it so i started to swim back to shore then I thought, no I can get that stick so I went back for the stick again. Nope, can't make it, get back to shore! I ended up swimming in circles because I couldn't make up my mind what i wanted to do but it sure was fun swimming. My mom was so proud of me, so was my skin brother Sam. Later, Jack had the same feeling come over him and he dove in the water! All of us ended up getting in the water except for Marley. We had such a great time!
We finally decided to head back to the truck because there were some aggressive dogs there. Someone had the nerve to bring an intact male pit bull. He and I had a face off and Mom freaked out! Time to go she said.
On the way back Dad thought it might be a good idea to let Ayla off the leash. He let her off and she did great! For some reason she does not like meeting new dogs on leash but feels more confident when she is off leash. She was meeting all kinds of other dogs and didnt have a single problem. Mom and Dad were so proud of her.
On our walk back I got distracted by something. I looked around and my family was gone! OH NO! After about 10 minutes, I heard my skin brother Sam's voice calling me. "I see you Sam!" I was so happy to see him. I had never gotten lost before.
See what I mean? Alot of firsts happened yesterday. OH! One more thing, I got to ride in the back of the truck (with a leash of course) with the wind in my face. It was great! Pearl was back there for a while on the way there but didn't like it much. Marley rode back there on the way home and she liked it much better.
What a great day it was!

1st day post-oops

Well, here we are the day after I lost my juevos. I am feeling so much better! As a matter of fact, it's like nothing is actually missing. I feel the same! Marley, the other brindle boxer, is in heat just like Pearl was and I found myself drawn to her somehow. I even mounted her and we got tied up! My dad couldn't believe it. He asked mom later, "are you sure that there are no swimmers left?" Mom told him that she specifically asked that question when she came to pick me up. They assured her that there was no way I could get Marley pregnant. Mom hopes that is true because Marley is a very small boxer and she would probably have to have a C-section if she was to have babies. Would that be considered a miracle? At least I got one in before I lost the drive to do so (no pun intended). I'll write more later.

My first day of a new beginning

I had no idea when I woke up this morning that I would be losing my two best friends today. All seemed normal until I didn't get any breakfast. My mom is always so good about getting me fed after I go out to potty in the morning but today was different, no food or water. Mom wasn't in her usual routine to get ready for work either...it was later in the morning than normal. Why wasn't she going to work today? Then something real different happened, both me and Pearl got to go for a car ride with mom. What's going on? Are we going to work with Mom? That can't be right because Sam (my human brother) is going too. We wouldn't all be going to work with Mom. Well we enjoyed the ride anyway. When we finally reached our destination, Sam took Pearl and Mom took me and we both walked across this large parking lot into this big building that we've never seen before. There were no people around and very few cars going by. We walked into this building and into a small room where two girls were sitting behind desks. The next thing I knew Pearl and I got handed over to these total strangers..."bye mom". I was scared and trembling. Even though I had never been to this place before, I knew it wasn't good. It's hard for me to recount what happened after that door shut behind me. The best part was that before too long, Mom came to pick us up. I was really groggy and wobbly and was glad to see her but wasn't my usual wiggle butt self. I now know what happened to me....they took my testicles!!! What once was there is now gone!!! I'm not quite sure how that happened but I went to sleep and when I woke up, they were missing.
Mom knew all along what was going to happen. What was she thinking??? I guess I have to trust that she knew best and she did this for a good reason. There go my plans to be a dad and raise a family. Thanks Mom!
