Hey it is me Charleston!!! I wanted to let all you future adopters know that I am back from my surgery. I went to go get spayed, whatever that is, and my tail removed. All I know is it hurt! I am feeling much better now and am ready to go home with you.
Mom and I went for a walk today and then she took some updated pictures of me now that I am gaining weight.. Someone please tell me I still have a girlish figure!?! Mom says that I look 100 times better, but you know how moms are, they will tell you anything to make you feel better about yourself. Mom does tell me that I am a crazy, silly girl and that I am nothing but a big mess. What can you say I am still young and FULL of energy. I now get along with Mom’s puppy, Kenai, and we play and play and play! He is a boxer like me, but he is only 6 months old and since I am still bigger than him I scare him when I come bounding at him. Isn’t that what big sisters are supposed to do, bully their little brothers?? I have a lot of energy to play with him all the time, but Mom says that I still need to rest up while I am gaining weight. That means I will have more energy to play with you at my new home!!
I am also learning some manners.. Not many, but Mom says that I am really smart and can understand a lot of things. I just get too excited and want to go, go, go!! Well Mom says that we are going to have lunch now and that I need to get off the computer… Moms!! Can’t live with them and can’t live without them. I hope to see you soon!!

Hello everyone, my name is Charleston….Here is my story as to how I ended up being for, what I think they call, Adoption. My previous owners didn’t feel the need to feed me and tied me up under a trailer where I stayed. That made me a skinny girl, so Animal Control picked me up and took me back to their facility. They then contacted the wonderful people at Blue Ridge Boxer Rescue because I was a last chance dog… I didn’t really like the sound of that so, I had my paws crossed that someone would come get me. Well my dreams came true when they pulled up!
I was so sick and so weak that I had to spend a few nights in the vet’s office, but I didn’t mind, because there was food… I was so excited to have some attention that while I was doing my happy dance I hit my tail on the wall, Ouch!, and I made it bleed. The Vet told me that since I won’t stop wiggling it and hitting my tail on everything that they are going to amputate it…. I hope that doesn’t mean that when I am happy that you can’t tell, does it?? Yesterday was the day for them to remove it and “fix” me, but I am still too skinny and weak for them to do my surgery.
They called my foster Mom to come get me. When she picked me up from the vet’s office do you know what she told me? She said she is going to make me a fat girl… I hope that I don’t lose my girlish figure!?! She promised me that I would be prettier with a little meat my bones. I am still a little unsure, but I guess we will find out. Mom sneaks me treats all the time when I do stuff right…. I am still working on what she thinks is right and wrong. Hopefully I will get it figured out soon because I don’t like it when she tells me “No”.
I am ALWAYS so happy and so eager to please. All I want is someone to show me love and affection, and of course give me some food. That isn’t asking much is it? Mom likes to hand me tasty treats when I sit, and lay down. I still get a little excited knowing that I am going to get a treat that I jump to get it. Mom doesn’t give it to me then, she tells me that I have to be patient.. Does she realize that I am still a young Boxer and have no idea what patience is?? She also is teaching me what she calls leash manners. I like to pull with all my might as soon as I hear the click of the clasp. I don’t know where we are going, but I want to be the first one to get there!
Mom told me that I have to tell you about my faults…. Man she is strict! I did visit a cat the other day and I was interested in it a lot. I tried to convince Mom that it was a moving toy, but she wasn’t buying it. Mom says that it might not be a good idea for me to go into a home with cats. Darn, because they really seemed like so much fun to me. Also there are two fur bodies here, and so far I don’t like them around me. Mom thinks that I will get over that though once I get used to it around here and realize that food is a normal thing. I will keep you updated on how that goes. I promise!
Now people they are fair game!! I love me some people. I like big ones, little one, tall ones, and even short ones like my Mom. There is a five year old here that I LOVE to play with, but I also like to jump and Mom tells me that I rough house a little too much. Did I mention that she was strict and likes to take all my fun?? I am full of energy because Mom says that I have to rest up to be a healthy girl. She also told me that I have to take some medicine to help make me healthy too. She hides them in all kinds of tasty treats, so I don’t mind taking them.
Well guys, it is time for me to go to bed and get all rested up. I hope that you will put in your applications so that we can have lots and lots of fun together. I really am a pretty girl and hope to see you soon!!!
