Birthday: January 1st 2007 Arrival Story: SIMON is a 2.5 year old, 9 lbs tan Italian Greyhound Mix who started life as an unwanted gift. He spent his first couple of years in his Owner's backyard with little interaction, until his Owner decided to move and he was taken to a High-Kill Shelter.
Simon is quite happy snuggling in his doggie bed and watching TV, but is also quite athletic, even though he does a good job at being a professional snoozer! He is used to being alone, and has learned to entertain himself with a basketful of doggie toys, but he much prefers being with someone, and makes a wonderful, sensitive little companion. He is fine with other dogs of his size, but is definitely more people-orientated. Cats seem to be of no interest, when in the house.
With his size, he is quite portable for running around with on errands! He enjoys wearing doggie clothes, and is a very minimal shedder!
Simon does have a special need - he is hearing impaired so he needs to be communicated with in others ways than voice. When he gets anxious or stressed, and in new situations, he does bark. He is coming along well with learning hand signals and we would love to find a home that can work with him with ASL - he is very smart and his learning very quickly. I've Been On Dogster Since:
